2004 Predictions!
1. Primaries! I say Dean will have the nomination wrapped up by mid-March, probably around St. Patrick's Day (two weeks after Super Tuesday). Dean will outmaneuver the ‘anti-Dean,’ Wesley Clark.

2. General Election! Dean/Graham will take 51% of the popular vote and 312 electoral votes, from all the states Gore won plus Missouri, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Nevada, and Florida. Ohio will come down to a recount, but Bush will win there by less than 5,000 votes. Democrats will gain seats in Congress, but the GOP will still have the majority.

3. Terra-lerts This Orange Alert will end within a week, and the next Orange Alert will come around St. Patrick’s Day. What a coincidence! Didn’t I utter those words already? Anyway, Duh-bya’s excuse is that it is the week of the first anniversary of the attack on Iraq (which it is). The next Orange Alert? Late July. (I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Boston area go under Code Red around that time.)

4. Economy The stock market will be around 11,000 by November, while unemployment reaches 7%. GDP grows minimally, while consumer confidence continues to slip. Greenspan retires.

5. Trials Scott Peterson, Jacko, Saddam, and Kobe are convicted. Martha Stewart is acquitted.

6. Sports Eagles over Patriots, Lakers over Pacers in five, Flyers over Canucks in seven, Giants over BoSox in six.

7. DU membership in one year 65,000

2. Eagles over Pats? And monkeys will fly out of my butt.
The Titans are going to be in the Superbowl so that kills that prediction.

3. Pete Rose, Dance Craze, Martial Law...
1) Pete Rose deemed eligible for inclusion in baseball Hall of Fame, but declines for personal reasons; starts a string of MLB franchised wagering salons in most major league stadiums.
2) New Dance Craze, Pandabera. injures thousands of teens and has parents lobbying for castanet ban.
3) Treasongate investigation bogged down as Rove claims two failed sectors on office hard drive and Cheney goes permanently undisclosed.
4) Initially strong movement to draft Clinton as Democratic Presidential Candidate fails as rumors of sex scandal surface in media. She denies most rumors.
5) Limbaugh quits radio show as charges stick; becomes spokesperson for Dominoes Pizza and, after acquittal on technicality, undergoes race change - becomes a sports announcer for BET.
6) Abortion and breast reduction banned under Patriot Act III's "Feminine Limitations" clause. Liposuction still OK.
7) FDA attempts to ban all caffeine products; resulting "Starbucks Rebellion" causes President Bush to declare martial law. Popular "Bush Trimming" squads invade the Capital; Bush restores Constitution under threat of castration.
8) Michael Moore wins Presidential election as a write in candidate.
9) Dixie Chicks perform at Presidential Inauguration.
10) Osama bin Laden disbands al Qeada and joins the premier Pandabera band, "Jihad Ollie," on keyboard. Oliver North is still the bands lead singer, but he reluctantly allows bin Laden to participate in a few duets.

8. Oops! I forgot one. Saddam...
..Hussein will convert to Christianity while in captivity, due to the spiritual interventions of Tammy Faye Baker. The two become married, but the Bush Administration denies conjugal visits. Saddam is pardoned as Bush leaves office.

(Two years later, after his bestselling memior, Irag? I Ran!, is published, Saddam divorces Baker and marries Jenna Bush in a small, private ceremony in Crawford, Texas.)

5. 20 of them...
Edited on Wed Dec-31-03 11:37 AM by DakotaDemocrat
1) After a couple of years of quiet in the US terror-wise, a major plan will be exposed in March.

2) Osama will NOT be found by October.

3) The stock market will look awful shaky by fall due to even more corporate corruption and shady hedge fund developments.

4) North Korea will turn its cheek.

5) Diebold will lose its teeth, but not its "effectiveness"...

6) Beware of a looming health threat, specifically in children.

7) People will mourn the passing of Reagan, the Pope and a movie legend.

8) Jackson and Bryant will be cleared - Peterson will not.

9) Bombs will fly in Syria. Terrorists will add France to its list of victims.

10) Bush will be put in the corner about the Plame scandal, and will fire Scooter Libby.

11) Cheney, Rice, Wolfowitz will all leave, while Powell will seriously consider moving on.

12) No space shuttle tragedies this year, but I'm going to sell my transportation stock holdings early in 2004.

13) Terry McAuliffe will be gone just before 2005, and while Daschle will lose his leadership post, he will win his seat back convincingly.

14) High drama about Clinton in the days before the Democratic convention will lead up to a passionate event.

15) Dean will be the Democratic candidate, and will choose Graham as his running mate. All of the debates will be boring.

16) Dean will lose, but look at some interesting election developments in a particular State, and it isn't Florida...try the Northeast...

17) The Packers will seize the moment, beating the Patriots 27-24 in the Super Bowl.

18) You do not - I repeat DO NOT - want to be at Wimbledon.

19) You do not want to be in Denver later in the summer, New Orleans will be where the luck is.

20) Look for another media debacle, our ever beloved Fox News being the center of it all.

*** Generalisimo Francisco Franco will still be dead.

2. Runoff: Dean loses the runoff by a slim margin of voters he's driven away by his divisive campaigning against democrats
