Linux question
I have a Windows-type "bin" file. How can I burn it to cd with Linux? I guess I need to convert it to an "iso" file first, but maybe not. Anybody know?

1. What version of Linux?
If it's half way up to date, you should have a built-in burner program that will recognize the file-- a .bin file needs an associated .cue file to tell the program about it so it burns it properly. The only conversion program I know (from .bin to .iso) is a Windows program. I know of no such Linux utility, although I'm sure it's out there somewhere.

The burner program is not installed by default, if I recall (I use Suse Linux 9 Pro, and I had to select it for install). Red Hat is similar. I have no experience with any other distro.

2. I'm using "Linux From Scratch"
Where all the programs are installed from source. I have cdrecord installed, and the xcdroast front end, which I haven't really used much. I'm usually burning mp3's and that kind of thing, so I just use the command-line to do it.

I "found" a program called bin2iso that sounds just right, but the website says I don't have permission to access that directory, and I can't find a mirror.
