Mrs R told me tonight that I said something to her that
"healed a lot of things that had been broken inside her."

It felt good to hear her say that. Indeed.

1. That's great.
It's a good thing when our words can do that kind of healing.

5. I do hope, my friend, that you find such a partner some day.
I do. You have to trust me when I say that it can happen for anyone.

OK?

7. The second-best thing about when that happens
is when you do this ginormous exhale and it feels like somebody took that elephant off your shoulders, and you go, "Whew! I got one right!"

10. "Kicked your ass?" Never would I lay a hand (or a foot) upon you, unless it
were a fond and friendly embrace.

Which I hope to be able to give you one day. And you know that.

especially good.

You know how these things work in a marriage, don't you?

26. It's so nice to hear someone say that in this day and age.
Either people don't feel that they have found the "love of their life," or they do not say it. I'm happy that you have yours.

I'm so glad you two are still together; you of course still need to take care of yourself, but if MrsR is willing to take care of her problem, that is wonderful. I wish you both great blessings.

32. Sometimes we forget that it's the little, unintentional things that we say
that can really make a difference in someone's life.

Words are the most powerful things imaginable. Bruises heal, physical pain fades to a memory...words never leave us. Cutting remarks cut just as deeply years later...and the memories of healing words are just as soothing as days, weeks, even years pass.

Somehow, I'm not surprised that yours were of the healing variety.

Make sure you remember to take care of yourself too. It can't ALL be about her or you will end up exhausted and
ready to give up again.
That said, I'm pulling for you too!
