Steps For Peace coming to my house!
Hi all! I have missed a bunch of what has been going on here while preparing for this event. The 5 walkers are coming through Topeka on the 1st. I am hosting them and hopefully people will come over to meet and speak with them (in my town that is not likely, getting press has been almost impossible). 3 are staying at my house and 2 in the little apartment at my farm. Anyone around NE Kansas who might be interested PM me and I will send you the details. I will be walking with them as far as my poor old body can go. I am so excited. I even got my two teen boys to clean up their rooms for world peace, and peace at home. Just wanted to share this. I will post about it after they have gone on.

4. I did miss it
thanks so much. It really is nothing what we are doing and it really is my honor to be a haven on the trip. I can't wait to meet them and share their stories.

dweller, thank you. That is a powerful piece and I think I am going to print it out and hang it up somewhere to remind me not to lose heart quite so often. Peace

5. It is not 'nothing' that you are doing...
"Any small, calm thing that one soul can do to help another soul, to
assist some portion of this poor suffering world, will help immensely.
It is not given to us to know which acts or by whom, will cause the
critical mass to tip toward an enduring good. What is needed for
dramatic change is an accumulation of acts, adding, adding to,
adding more, continuing. We know that it does not take "everyone on
Earth" to bring justice and peace, but only a small, determined group
who will not give up during the first, second, or hundredth gale."

Good idea, print it out for the Steps for Peace participants too. They may need the inspiration on the road.

peace,
dp

7. What a wonderful thing to do
You are a real inspiration to me.

And what a great link, dweller. Thanks, as I missed it earlier. I have sent the link to members of a small peace group I attend.

I am going to have the privilege of seeing DK on Saturday. I look forward to this and hope the turnout is good. His message is so strong.

8. You are so very lucky!
My guess is that I will never have the chance to see him. Enjoy it. Where I live it is difficult to ever do much so I am just taking a chance to do something, to make a little statement. The newspaper guy who called me made it very clear that he thought I was nuts. I can't wait to meet and talk to them.

9. If I'm lucky enough to speak to him...
I'll mention "MuseRider from Kansas." He seems like the kind of guy that really appreciates the support of great people of action like you and will know exactly who I am talking about. I actually hope there are enough people at this rally that I won't be able to get close.

12. I certainly will
...and the best part of all this is that my daughter (the Republican one) bought me tickets for the Willie Nelson (+ many others) fundraiser and concert that will occur later the same evening. So, I'm on cloud nine. I get to see DK, Willie and a republican paid the way. She is a wonderful daughter and put her mother's happiness over her political leanings. I'm not sure I could have bought her tickets for a Republican fund raiser for her birthday.
