Feeling totally overwhelmed at the moment.... *sigh*
I guess I just feel like I need to type this all out... just to get it all out of my head. Things are super crazy right now.

I have two papers to write for my German class by the 14th (a 3-page and an 6-7 page) in German, of course. Final exam for my math class on the 14th. Daughter's b-day party tomorrow, for which I need to clean the house tonight (a big, neglected task), make a cake, put goodie bags together, buy food.

Tomorrow afternoon/evening is another party we want to go to. Sunday I have to work, then up to school to do research for my papers.

Monday I have a mammogram/U/S in the morning (doc is pretty darn sure they're just cysts, but "wants to be sure". Yikes.) Monday afternoon doc's appointment with my endocrinologist. Wednesday I have client meetings. Next Friday is my company holiday party.

The following Saturday Briarius has a climbing comp., and Sunday I'll be at work again. Work has recently given me more stuff - I now have 8 projects and manage 4 people officially. OY.

The real question is, when the hell am I going to get any Christmas shopping done?!? :banghead:

Most of this is my own making, due to school and that causing schedule insanity, but I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

You make a very good point - the "required" stuff isn't really required, now is it?

That's maybe a good point, I'll have to think about that. I'm only 26... one would keep all fingers crossed that it's not something to worry about....

14. Superwoman needs a vacation.
Sheesh, girl!

Here's an idea: invite your math study group over tonight for a combination study session/house cleaning party. Think they'd go for that?

Seriously, bast wishes for Monday.

The other stuff will take care of itself, more or less. Just put Briarus to work.

The other stuff... yeah, you're right, it'll happen. I think I'm going to have to enlist Briarius to help with the Christmas shopping and stuff, at least for his family!

20. Amazon.com for Christmas shopping.
Babel on alta vista for a rough translation to German, as a start
Birthday party at local park, thus removing need to clean. Order pizza delivery.
No way to get around the mammogram
Delegate stuff at work and seek continual updates.

Definitely Amazon for shipping, for sure.

German I can do, I speak it as a second language, it just takes longer. dict.leo.org is fantastic.

Too cold for the park, but we *are* ordering pizza :)

Thanks for the advice! :hi:

24. I'm going to say this although it will sound like heresy- buy the Birthday cake
or let your SO make it. He can help with the clean-up for sure. Sweeping the floors is good; washing the windows and cleaning the closets is not necessary. My mother is a bit obsessive about cleaning. While I go in the other direction, it's taken me years to learn not to feel guilty about not cleaning as much as she does.

On-line book stores are your friend for shopping. Amazon and Target will deliver all kinds of non-book merchandise to your door.

Just don't put your entire list on one order. ! back ordered item can hold up the entire delivery.

I promised my daughter a lion cake, bought the pan... I'll do that part, it's ok. But I'm definitely enlisting help for the rest! Briarius and I will clean tonight, he's gonna run errands in the morning and my grandmother offered to come help set up, so I'll let her!

I hadn't thought about looking at Target online, but I'll definitely keep that in mind! :hi:

28. Also - little kids love take-out pizza.
Serve them that a some pop and you're all set.

Take-out for your family a few nights won't kill them either.

All I'm doing is the cake, and some chips/veggies/soda. Pizza will be ordered once I know how many people show up. Why can't people RSVP anymore?!?

25. That's the type of situation where I figure out what the least important
activities are and drop them.

For example, you may want to go to that second party, but it might be better for your mental health if you call the hosts and tell them you can't make it after all.

When I shed the less important activities, it makes all the difference in the world to my state of mind.

I'm thinking we may just "drop in" briefly to that party, stay for an hour, then head home to work on papers for school, or some online shopping....
