1. I tried those. They are incredible!
It's impossible to go back to eating Granny Smith or red delicious.

2. The catch
they dont make a good pie.

For that, I recommend Jonathans and Golden Delicious, mixed together.

3. Pink Lady
is primo, too. This year we've had no problem finding them in southern Maryland, but last year we couldn't find any at all.

Like Honeycrisp, they are sweet, juicy and crisp, but they have an entirely different flavor. Try them if you can find them.

8. I've never seen Cameos Are they a local variety in the NW?
My favorite MN apple is the fireside, they are pretty similar to Honeycrisps--but you can only find them in the Autumn, and pretty much only in Minnesota.

Wow, I like apples!

10. love cameos!
That's my first pick. Then braeburns. But I usually buy what's on sale, so sometimes it's galas, sometimes fujis, sometimes johnagolds. I will pay non-sale price for a good cameo, though.

6. Well, I moved in with some buddies
(I call the place Delta House) and do not have, and don't feel like investing in internet there. I had hoped I was done living as a barbarian nomad, but I guess it just isn't time yet. I am looking for another abode, but am also a bit reluctant to leave them in the lurch.

All is not lost though--I now have a job (I'm at it now) where I can goof around a bit and post from work. FYI it is (finally) a "career-type" gig as befits a fellow with his Master's degree! Well, actually I don' have that just yet--but all I have to do is finish that damn project.....

In short, I have been very well--just not online much since June. :hi:  say hi to CMW for me! :D

CMW probably has already seen your post and is "hi"-ing you back.

Now, go finish that damn project or :I-paddle: :spank:

9. (Pssst, just between you 'n' me)
I usually spend a few hours at work a week tinkering away at it!) I've FINALLY got all the data into a spread sheet and now need to just screw around with graphing. Once I get that accomplished the papaer part will pretty much write itself. So very close....

Today though I forgot my laptop at home--plus, I need to like, you know--do my job 'n' stuff. ;)

11. Umm
It is a product of the University of Minnesota's Agricultural Experiment Station's Horticultural Research Center? But it isn't "Frankenfruit" though. It is the state fruit of Minnesota.

13. I guess I've never had a good one
I've tried them a couple of times and they've never impressed me. They're ok, they definately win me over on the 'crisp' side but the flavor is weak IMHO.

I'm a big apple fan too. Macouns are my pick for most perfect food. :)

14. I can't keep them stocked in the house....my kids will literally eat a dozen of
them in a 24 hour period.

They LOVE the crisp!
