Radiohead fans: Who thinks PABLO HONEY was a pretty weak album?
Don't you think it paled in comparison big time, up against any other album in their catalog?

Don't get me wrong... I've got them all on CD and very expensive import vinyl as well. Imagine having to hear 4 sides of vinyl to play OK Computer all the way through.

The only 3 tracks I really like on Pablo Honey are:

1) Thinking about you
2) Lurgee
3) Creep (the one with the cleaned up language) this version is NOT included on the import vinyl, it's only on the CD.

1. It's different to their later works...
... that's all. I agree that it's weak compared to "OK, Computer", etc. but compared to the other Britpop albums of the early 90's, "Pablo Honey" is actually pretty interesting and I enjoy listening to it. More importantly though, it gave Radiohead exposure and a foothold into the public conciousness which as a consequence, allowed them to produce less mainstream works.

2. That and the Bends are my favorite Radiohead albums....
OK Computer was pretty good as well.

The rest almost seem like a joke to me, with the exception of a few songs on each.

4. It's OK, but it lacks the distinctiveness that colours their real work.
It's pretty bland.

5. its hard for the early work to trump the later stuff
for any band.

In retrospect yeah, its weak but there are good tunes on that.

6. There are some really good songs on the album..............

like Creep, Anyone Can Play Guitar and Thinking About You.....I wouldn't call it pretty weak , I think it's above average for a debut album but it's definitely not their best........My favorite is still The Bends, I think everything that is great about Radiohead can be heard on this album........OK Computer is brilliant as well.......I don't think i'll ever understand Amnesiac........Hail To The Thief is a step in the right direction, an improvement from their last few albums........
