I hope LeftyKid knows how much I love him.
I ventured out in the rain and nastiness and awful traffic to to to an insanely busy store and get him a new bike when I'm having a shitty day and all I really wanted to do was chill out under the covers in sweatpants with something loud and obnoxious on my ipod and hang out on DU. He deserves it, but I'm really glad to be inside where it's warm and dry and the only crazy people are the ones I'm related to.

1. You're a good mom, LM
But I'll bet LeftyKid does know how much you love him, even without a shiny new bike!

3. Of course he knows
Now when he's a teenager, he may forget...for a while. But odds are he'll remember in time.

6. Years from now you'll fondly remember the trip to the store
I still remember searching high and low for a Tonka backhoe tractor for my (then) three year old. At 5:30 Christmas Eve, I finally found it. Boy, did I ever feel great!

Here's to many more such Christmas excursions for what is precious.

:)
