3. Me too!
I just came across them, my daughter is fascinated by them. BTW, in my day, anything with an armor class of 26 was seriously up shit creek.

4. Yeah in 3rd edition they basically reversed AC
Going from a 1st or 2nd edition point of view, his AC would be something like -16.

In 3/3.5 You have a base attack bonus that goes up every level and you add your strength bonus and other modifiers, then just roll to hit the AC of the target. That way there is no fubling around with odd charts and what not. I suppose on a certain level it is "dumbed down" but combat moves much, much, much faster in 3rd edition than it ever did in 1st or 2nd.

7. Ah the welcome simplification of the die-rolls.
I like 3.5 a lot. It's very well built and easy to use.

8. Min-maxed to death...
...with INT, WIS and CHA as dump stats--just like on the Freeper boards. Does your troll also shy away from actual combat?

9. LOL of course!
That's why he has Shadowdancer so he can Hide in plain Sight and do Sneak Attacks. Shadow Jump 20 feet, catch someone flatfooted and he is doing Claw 1d6+6 +3d6 Sneak + Claw 1d6+6 +3d6 + Bite 1d6+3 +3d6. Plus he can summon a shadow ally (sockpuppet/dummy account) when he needs backup!
