Any boo boos at your dinner today?
My daughter had dinner at her house and everything was wonderful except for a new recipe that she tried from the food channel. A concoction with brussel sprouts and balsamic vinegar and I think there was some bacon and onions too. The balsamic was supposed to cook down to a nice glaze, but it just pretty much remained vinegar. We just all had a good laugh, especially her, as she dumped the whole thing.

How about you?

2. I made a pecan pie for the first time.
Suffice it to say, I need a bit more practice. It was burnt and the filling was mealy.

3. tried to do sugared walnuts for the salad
and burnt them while I was mashing the potatoes. But the potatoes were good. sigh. Mom did a crown roast that was quite tasty. She reminded us how expensive it was several times and thank god, didn't roast it into oblivion. And she made a German chocolate torte for a day late birthday for me! Real whipped cream alternating with the German chocolate between layers........yum.

8. I'm glad the meal was good, but I'm sorry no one is helping you clean up!
After we ate, I lay on the couch and dozed off during the football game while my husband put away all the food and washed everything up.

I'm glad he did that. I wasn't really in the mood to clean.

10. Daughter cooked, I did the dishes.
Dad, grandpa and grandson ate. They might have helped, but they have that unfortunate chromosome thing going on, ya know...:)
