Two Teens Arrested For Gluing School Doors Shut
<snip>

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Hollywood police said some teenagers got themselves in a sticky situation.

Two teenagers are charged with breaking into McArthur High School and putting super-glue in all the locks. Last week's stunt cost the school nearly $30,000.

The teens are charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

Investigators used surveillance video to help catch the 16 and 17-year-olds.

Police and school officials were able to break into most of the classrooms before students arrived but others were stranded outside classrooms.

4. Hogwash
Part of the goodness of pranks is when they don't involve property damage, especially expensive public property damage.

The interested reader is referred to the Institute of Hacks, Tom Foolery and Pranks, published by the MIT museum, a compendium of their greatest pranks. Very few of them involved property damage, and then it was minimal compared to the overall effect-- like the time they installed a balloon and tank under the turf at Harvard Stadium, and radio-controlled it to inflate after the first touchdown in a Harvard-Yale game. (The refs had to remove the balloon and replace the divot-- paltry damage for such a prominent hack.)

And the humor also has to be better than this. Gluing the doors shut is Beavis and Butthead caliber.

3. Same prank at my kid's high school 3 years ago
The boys were caught by the surveillance cameras, too. However, since they were sons of prominent members of our small town, they were not arrested. Their parents paid for the damages so their sons wouldn't lose their college scholarships. Lesson learned?
