Poll question: If you were rich, would you have less problems?
No question, I would definitely have fewer issues than now

9. That's what I was thinking, but decided
not to consider making a choice (on which car/guitar/home) I'd buy as a problem.

It would be a tough decision figuring out which car to get though. The guitar is a set in stone custom job. The home might take some time and energy to decide. The car would be a Yaris, I think.

13. Realistically...
If I hit the lotto...I would buy a lot of acreage in AK, and make myself a nice little home...and live near a lake, get my pilots liscense, and nobody would ever see me again(except my friends/family who would be living with me, more than likely)....:) My other little dream...buy a yacht, and cruise the ocean until I die of old age, or sunburns!...:hi:

Which car should I get to drive on the weekday, and which for the weekends? How many pounds of caviar do I need for my dinner party tonight? How exactly does one go about getting a numbered account on the Caymans? :sarcasm:

5. Yes, I would have fewer problems.
Not saying that all my problems would be solved; they wouldn't. But since a lot of my problems are related to money -- or the lack thereof -- then being rich would definitely solve a lot of them.

My answer to your question: Yes, absolutely. Money would make a big difference in my life.

No, I meant I'd probably have fewer problems, and certainly different ones. But I'd also be better-equipped to deal with them: call my attorney, call my accountant, call my psychiatrist, call my plastic surgeon.

18. All in all, I live a pretty problem free life.
The only things I really have to worry about are money related...I'm a very poor grad student, whos finished all his classes and is simply trying to finish his thesis. If I had money, I wouldn't have to work and could finish it quite easily. Other than my grad work, and finding a job, I literally have no real problems. My familiy is great, my gf is great, and I have no psychological, or physical problems.

27. I would *love* to have the problems of the rich
But I'd solve the problems I have now first:

Pay off the insane credit card debt
Pay off the house
Have all needed repairs made to the house
Pay off the cars
Get *real* health insurance
Quit my damn job and spend time building my own business (for real this time)
Take the s.o. to Amsterdam to stop the whining :P
Buy property in Costa Rica
Get a personal trainer

After that, I have no idea.

Oh, and buy a judge. :P

A party will be scheduled sometime later.

31. I have a two part answer.
I have a two part answer.

They claim the more you make or have, the more ways you find to spend it. It makes it seem like you equal out to what other people make and live on. I really don't believe that.

For us that wouldn't necessarily true. We know how to live off of x amount of dollars, so I believe we would save more. Also, we are not the type to splurge. If we had a ton of money, we wouldn't build a Mc Mansion, or buy a honking huge expensive SUV just because.

So keeping that in mind, for us there would be fewer problems, because when the car needs a repair, or some other unexpected bill comes up...just pay from the savings. Those are things you need to pay pay. Then there are the things that you don't absolutely have to have, but would be nice to have like doing something as a family, or for the kids. you wouldn't have to figure out, how are we going to pay for this?

In my opinion, more money can definitely mean much less stress.

However, it's not to say that there wouldn't be other problems, there are problems out there no amount of money can solve.

33. If I had become rich when I was younger
I think I'd have just as many problems as I have now if not more.

But, and perhaps I'm still deluding myself, I think if I suddenly became rich now I'd do a better job. I wouldn't be stress free at least not as time goes by and I get "used" to the new life and started taking it for granted but less stress than I have now.

34. Yes, considering that 99% of my problems come from
lack of fundage. I love my job but hate the paycheck. I left another career for this one 4 years ago, but if I'd stayed, I'd be earning at least twice what I am now. But I hated that with a deep and abiding passion. What's a girl to do?

36. Money makes a whole lot of problems disappear.
The rich still have problems, but at least they aren't worrying about paying for medical care, rent, food, etc. Being poor or even working class means that money factors into and limits decision-making. Being rich, not so much.

37. Not less problems
Maybe less stress, but money isn't one of the things I consider to be a problem. Money comes and goes in cycles just like everything else in this world so there is no sense in letting it become or cause problems.

The things I consider problems in my life are either within myself or a result of those around me. Money can't make those go away.

50. There would be less
Monetary problems are choices that have no good outcome, or choices between two desired outcomes for which the there is not enough money... like electricity bill or medicine. Or wanting to take the day off to give the time to making sure our elections are fair, but not being able to afford the missed pay.

To be sure there are problems that are not solved by money, even some that are exacerbated by the addition of money, but no one who has had to struggle to pay the electric bill, would deny that the lack of money can be stressful in the extreme - even soul crushing. So yes - I believe that if I had more money I would have fewer problems... not no problems but fewer no doubt.
