I can't take much more of this college thing.
i used to be doing fine but now its gotten to the point where most of my grades come from essay papers, mostly all(if not that) i end up BS'ing my way through because i just can't get any intelligent structure out of what so ever. i can garuntee the three papers i currently have to do are going to end up with vary low grades.

my orignal plan was computer science but that wasn't going to happen cause the math classes required for it where screwing me over, now its political science, although i can go on for lengths about current events, my classes all involve theory and historic writings, crap like that that i get no intrest in what so ever.

to be truthful i guess im kind of "living a lie" right now anyways, i don't have the slightest motivation to go through college, nor the intrests, from day one the only thing that interested me was the lectures.

the odds of me just saying screw is, and dropping out is vary high, id rather be working full time.

1. Go to the writing center.
Trust me, it will help and it's clearly needed.

2. Like i said
i could go on and on about stuff I'm interested in, but sadly the stuff i have to write about is completely un-interesting to me so my writing style reflects that, as well as my ability to procrastinate.

and i do write differently on essays then i do on message boards, less formal you know

4. I'm guessing you're still doing gen-ed crap.
It'll get better once you're past that. I suggest you still check out the writing center, because they can help you with your writing style, even on things you're not interested in. I was a writing center tutor. Most students do see a marked improvement after visiting the center.

3. I was the same way..
I dropped out and got a manufacturing job. That sucked too, so I went back to school after a year. Both options suck. I just had to decide what sucked less.

6. This is probably the opposite of the usual advice, but...
...if you're really hating it, give yourself permission to leave it behind. Most people will probably tell you "stay in school, you'll be better off for it when you're done" - but, speaking as someone who felt much as you did a few years ago, and who did stay, and who later realized they truly were wasted years, I have to tell you - do what feels right to you. If that's dropping out and working full-time, then do that. I don't know if you have family members or others who expect you to finish up and get your degree (I did, and I stayed on partly because I dreaded the uproar that would come about if I left school), but keep in mind, this is your life, not theirs. Now, I'm all in favor of education, don't get me wrong. But I'm also in favor of pursuing your own dreams, not the expectations that others may have for you.

And you know what? If you find yourself 40 or 50 years old one day and realize you regret not staying in college and getting your degree - you can still go back to school then, if you're so inclined. I can't imagine that I'll ever feel that way, but, you never know. You're not cutting yourself off from a future possibility if you were to leave now.

You may find that the world of full-time work sucks even more than school, or that the opportunities you want really are closed to you without your college degree - but you'll have to experience it yourself before you'll believe that. And if it turns out you have no desire ever to go back to college - then pursue your chosen course in life, don't feel bad, and don't look back.

18. I completely disagree..
If you find yourself 40 or 50 years old one day and realize you regret not staying in college and getting your degree - you can still go back to school then,

The younger you are the more mental power you have to retain core class b/s. Also the younger you are the less major responsibilities you have.

Do what you can to pass your core classes then learn to work the system to get through your electives.. Take an extra year by dropping classes where you know the professor is going to be a hard ass for classes that you know you can skate through..

After you graduate no one will care about your GPA as long as you have the piece of paper

7. Do it and get through it.
Get your piece of paper and then get on with your life. But get that piece of paper. And if u need theory and history but they turn you off then you are in the wrong field. And, ah, use your spell checker.

9. you'd rather be working full time
there'll be plenty of time for that, TRUST ME. YOu're not going to have any shortage of that in your life. Why not change schools? Change majors? Major in something that interests you? Take electives that offset the boringness of other classes? Go out and hang out with other students?

I'd caution you against being in too big of a rush to get into this workforce.

10. Working full time is no picnic. Believe me.
At college you're surrounded by people your age, plenty of options for fun, resources, intellectual stimulation. Please take advantage of it! I know millions of people would like to be in your position. College years go by quickly -- you can do it! ... Maybe a different college might help.

11. Bad news -- the Bullshit outside of college is worse!
Stick it out, a couple of years wading through the shallow pools of Bullshit in college is nothing compared to the vast oceans of Bullshit outside of college.

13. good Mark Twain quote:
"I have never let my schooling interfere with my education."

my advice would be, dont give up. So many doors are closed to you when you don't have a bachelor's degree. Yes, so many classes suck at the undergrad level. Will you have to bust your ass? Yes, repeatedly. Whats worse than suffering thru college? Working 8-12 hours a day at a job that you hate, are too smart for, and doesn't satisfy you. (for the rest of your life, which is a long time, a very fucking long time)

Sometimes, you don't realize how long the rest of your life is, until you are doing it, and you hate it.
