Okay so this morning, there I was minding my own business. . .
Edited on Sat Oct-21-06 05:55 PM by stellanoir
sitting on my chair in my apartment when my son's cat chased an English sparrow inside which skirted closely over my head.

I was then momentarily showered in feathers. The bird stared me down for several hours thereafter.

I kept trying to telepath with it that it had two choices: to either trust me or suffer a cruel and insufferable feline decimation.

It was situated on top of my boom box on top of my TV. I tried my darnedest to capture it but felt I had to neutralize 5000 years of humanoid domination and oppression of the animal kingdom.

The bird wasn't falling for it. It gradually figured out that it had to go downstairs to escape. It made several attempts.

It's last attempt was intercepted by said cat. I intercepted his interception with a bath towel and Mission Sparrow Liberation was successful.

It flew happily away.

Phew.

And I was just about to PM Xema.

Or how I spent my Saturday. I even blew off a date for a sparrow and spent 3 bucks on cat food.

Oh well.

Yikes.

1. It is now 8 o'clock
and time for the English sparrow on your television set to explode.

2. Wow.
Usually they won't go downstairs to escape.

I am glad this story had a happy ending. :D

6. What is the air velocity of an unladden sparrow?
And are you sure it wasn't an African Swallow?

10. I hope you praised the kitty's valiant efforts....
Good kitty! You're SUCH a good predator! That sort of thing. Wouldn't want the cat to get the idea that its efforts are not appreciated.
