A Lefty MP gets elected Prime Minister and the proverbial "stuff" hits the fan.

Elements? A Consolodated/Monopolized Media run by a Murdoch like mogul starts attacking him. Doing the usual "Lie on Page One, Retract on Page 2,000" dance. So do a few of the entrenched civil servants. The US also starts to flex it's muscle. Does the PM fight back? Oh yes he does. Some of the exchanges between the main characters are priceless, like the one between the PM and his rebellious Security Chief. The ending is superb.

Thanks to (I believe...) SoCalDem for the recommendation.

Happy Holiday's from NC!

2. Excellent film!
The Brits make such great political dramas (A Very British Coup, House of Cards, Defence of the Realm, the John Le Carre series with Alec Guinness) and comedies (Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister).

3. I love Harry Perkins!
I remember seeing that on PBS back in the 80s on Masterpiece Theater and old Allistair Cooke panned it. If he and his corporate master (Mobil) panned it, then it's got to be great!

7. Wonderful
It went very well. The kids, and my co-workers, were all smiles. I think that if there were any concerns on their part about whether they would have support beyond the Union, they were laid to rest this morning, as the boxes of toys and other gifts were being delivered.

5. A film I liked was INC - as in incorporated - an 80's film about a company
I worked for - I think!

What was set up as a joke was all too real in my world at the time!
