Travertine tile and granite counter-tops have jumped the shark. What a bunch of pretentious, obnoxiously overt consumption products. Just saying.

..but, I don't get the travertine all over the place. Just a fad, I guess.

3. At first glance, I thought your message was a dupe of mine.
But it turns out I wasn't a spaz after all.

5. Both products are lovely.
But when I tune into the "Home" channels as a respite from Bushworld, it's all travertine and granite all the time. Enough all ready. Concrete is a slow second. It's all just so homogenized, even if it is pretty.

6. While granite countertops are practical, beautiful, and durable...
...I honestly believe that 'Travertine tile' has become popular mostly because designers like saying "travertine". It's a popular buzzword like 'paradigm'; a word intellectually lazy people toss around in the belief that it makes them appear intelligent. I'll bet that: 4 out of five designers who RECOMMEND travertine tile to their clients who use tile... have no idea what "travertine" means. It just sounds cool.
