Frank Darabont to direct an adaption of Stephen King's "The Mist"
Darabont, you may recall, directed one of the most popular films of all time, "The Shawshank Redemption" (also a King adaptation).

About 20 years ago or so, when I was really into Stephen King, "The Mist" was one of my favorite stories. The story focuses on a group of people trapped in a supermarket while their town is invaded by weird creatures from an alternate dimension.

I've been waiting for years for this story to be made into a film, and now I have some hope that it might actually be good. And while I am not quite the Stephen King fan I once was, he is a Finn fan, so he earns extra points.

I remember that story.
Creepy as hell.

Won't be easy to adapt, though.

6. Absolutely (SPOILER ALERT, POSSIBLY)
My fear is that they'll try to "Hollywoodize" the ending, which is very creepy and downbeat.

7. Possibly.
Depends on what they're going for.

There was a indie several years ago called "Limbo." It had a very similar ending that did not go over well with the audience. Especially the one I happened to be in, there were people actually shouting at the screen. I liked it though.

I read "The Long Walk" a couople of weeks ago. Fantastic King story, but I couldn't imagine how they'd make a movie out of it. I feel the same for "The Mist."

It sounds great when you first think about it, but the more you think about it the more you realize they'll probably fuck it up.

2. I know, I saw that too.
I'm proud to say that to this day I've never seen a Michael Bay movie.

"The Birds" won't break that string.

It's hard to tell. They all kind of run together.

10. I think he's wanted to do it for a long time,
and he bought the rights a while ago, but the project's only just getting off the ground.
