:eyes:

normally i don't like to call people stupid. but we have this one woman who while nice and innocent enough, just makes me CRINGE on a daily basis.

she walks into my office:

Her: "Are you in the spreadsheet? It won't let me update it."
Me: "Not me."
Her: "Maybe its ****** who is in it?"
Me: "Could be. Not sure but it isn't me."
Her: *blank stare at the wall behind me* :eyes:
Me: "Maybe you should go ask ******* if he is in it?"
Her: "Gotta be ******* who is in it."
Me: "Very well could be. Why don't you go ask him?"
Her: "Because sometimes it is you who is in it."
Me: "But i don't currently have it open."
Her: "Or it could be ****** too."
Me: "I suppose that's possible too. Why don't you ask her on the way to *****'s office?"
Her: *big sigh like her world just collapsed around her*

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

2. What the...?
Maybe she likes you? I can see no logical reason for her footdragging after your initial answer.

Frickin unreal...

8. Must be that her brain just doesn't work right...
Thanks for sharing. I now count myself as lucky to work with some relatively bright people. :)

13. It's the dozen kids
They've literally driven her crazy. That is the only possible explanation. That or head trauma years ago...

15. A dozen? Really?
Well, she should be home taking care of 'em. Or maybe they thought she was nuts too and told her to be a liberated woman and go work.

4. I watch someone look up a number 10 times a day
They have been here for 3+ years and they call the same number at least twice a day. At least they are not the one that says irregardless or they would be dead.

14. OMG...
 :yoiks:

The stupidest coworker I ever had was when I was a cashier at Food Lion when I was in college. There was an "Associate Manager" (read: glorified stocker) who had only five or six teeth in his whole head. :puke: The remaining ones were very, very gross. :yoiks: One day, I was walking down the health & beauty aids aisle, and he was stocking toothpaste and Listerine. He stopped me and said, "Hey, ya think maybe some of this stuff would help me? I think I have gingivitis." He was totally and completely serious. I had to keep from crying, 'cause it was full-blown periodontal disease. I said, "Well, Listerine's designed to be used after you brush your teeth." And he said, "With this?" and held up toothpaste. I said, "Yes, I think so." :yoiks: This guy had a nice wife and a child---and I could never understand why he never knew much about basic dental hygiene. :( I'm sure this was more ignorance than stupidity, but you'd think with all the TV he watched (and it was a LOT) that he'd at least seen one toothpaste commercial during all that time.

16. I think tooth care is a cultural thing.
If your family didn't teach you when you were little, you might never get it unless your primary school has a good program. When everyone in your family is missing teeth, you grow up thinking that's normal.

18. Sometimes someone who was born poor manages to get
ahead and move up in the world but still has bad teeth because they expect everyone to need dentures by 30.

19. Well, I have many stupid co-worker stories
But the most recent involves one of the deli clerks, who informed me that she'd won several million dollars in the Canadian lottery. She was very excited but just a little bit skeptical and asked me if I thought it was legitimate.

Me: Did you buy a ticket in the Canadian lottery?

Her: No.

Me: Did you enter any kind of lottery online?

Her: No.

Me: Well, then, how do you think you might have won it?

Her: I don't know but the email said I did. :banghead:

Lucky for her, I convinced her not to send them her banking information. She still wonders occasionally if she might have missed out on something big. :eyes:
