What are the Best and Worst New Shows of 2006 Fall Season ?
Mine:

Best: Heroes, Studio 60, Kidnapped (yes, I know it's going to wrap soon- but still, a good show.)

Worst: I haven't had any that I stopped watching yet- so jury still out.

How about you ?

1. for me...
Best: Heroes, Studio 60, 30 Rock, The Nine

Worst: 20 Good Years...I watched 10 minutes of that dreck and had to turn it off, usually I like Jeffery Tambor but this show sucked

46. The Nine was not what I was expecting...
And it was slow...and a bit boring. Watched the first, and couldn't watch it again.

2. 'Til Death is the worst sitcom I've seen this fall...
I've been married for 10 years and I still get excited over my husband. This show makes marriage look like a hatefest...and it's not even funny.

7. "Til Death" is the worst show I've seen in years
I never thought Brad Garrett could do a worse show than "Everyone Loves Raymond", but he has with this one. Yet another one of those comedies that are unique in the fact that they aren't even the least bit funny.

3. Is it just me, or is Studio 60 starting to suck.
I really liked the first episode, but the rest have just gotten bad, IMO. And the sketch bits are horrible. What was that Nicolas Cage abomination all about?

36. I'm not sure what that Nicolas Cage sketch was about, but I laughed
anyway. For some reason comedy about comedy is rarely funny. Hopefully the behind the scenes action will fill in the void. I thought the episode about plagarism was so contrived. Ya just can't make a storyline suspenseful if it's about a WGAF situtation, even if the best writers in the business write the script and the best actors in the business try their best to pump it up. I kept thinking, c'mon guys, this is not a national emergency or a medical crisis here -- it's copyright infringement, ferchrisakes.

25. I LOVE "Ugly Betty" and have actually seen the Colombian telenovela
it was based on.

I hope the wit--and you are exactly right, it's wit, not flat-out comedy--isn't over the heads of audiences.

America Ferrera is a fantastic talent; she was the lead in the fantaxstic movie "Real Women Have Curves."

I watch virtually no tv, but when I heard "UB" was coming to the US, I couldn't wait to see it and I'm not disappointed.

A tried and true formula from many places around the globe. I haven't watched it but you can see the same show on Univision.

Selma Hayek is the exec producer I believe.

Those are the only two I watched past one episode and I like them both. Jerico was shaky after 2 episodes, but the last two weeks move faster and gave far more interesting character development.

You can watch it on CBS's website with one commercial per break. I missed it last night because I wasn't paying attention and we left for dinner at 7:30, and it was really good. I dreamed about the damned show all morning, and found it on cbs.com.

53. So. Should I give Brothers and Sisters
another chance? I watched 1.5 shows and was so incredibly irritated with Calista Flockhart AND her character that I stopped.
The show seemed to have potential. I like Sally Field and Rachel Griffiths. But it was getting pretty soapy.
And Calista Flockhart! I don't get her. Plus, she's playing a horrible self-righteous rightwinger. Do I really need to spend my Sunday nights with her?
Convince me.
I'm not as close-minded as I appear.

54. I wanted to like it but.... among other things I just can never get over when the characters who are
supposed to be siblings, or family, or related, don't look remotely like each other! Maybe it shouldnt bug me but it does. I tried about 1.5 times too, just didn't do anything and normally I'm one who likes a certain amt of schmaltz.

55. Kat, I have the same problem
which is one of the reasons, in addition to witty scripts and talented actors, that I like Showtime's "Weeds". There's a little girl, Isabella, who actually looks like she really would be the couple's daughter - she looks like the actor who plays the father.
And the main character's youngest son really looks like he could be the son of his parents (the older son - less so).

19. Best: Jericho.
Worst, well, they've screwed up Close to Home by killing off the husband and bringing that republican bunch in. And I don't know what they did with Crossing Jordan and Medium. I'm still upset with NBC as well for cancelling Surface. I will NOT watch Shark. Watching the first few minutes and seeing James Woods let me know really quick like that I probably wouldn't like that show no matter how hard I tried to force myself to watch it. I couldn't get over James Woods being in it. I just don't like him for some reason. I'm boycotting the hell out of ABC, but I have to say that has been easy. It has been ages since I enjoyed anything they had on anyhow. So, NBC cancels all the good stuff they had and CBS keeps getting better except Shark... I just can't.

32. Uh oh --I'm THE KOD and I love Studio 60, too. Sometimes they
try a little too hard (Sorkinesque) to add suspense to a pretty weak storyline, but for the most part, I enjoy it. I thought the last episode with Eli Wallach was just, well, sweet. I'm even beginning to like Harriet, but it took a while. I'm very picky. I'm not a teevee snob, but if it doesn't sustain my interest, I just can't sit still. I'd rather DU.

44. I 've felt a few weak spots, too
But 1st seasons of shows are often that way. You see a long-running show in re-runs later and the 1st season (and the last one or 2) can seem a little weak and not how you remember a show.

I liked the sweet note of the Eli Wallach episode, too (even tho I am tired of "Hollywood 10" storylines for this particular lifetime). There is plenty of cruelty on TV nowadays so a sweet note dropped into a sophisticated show seems fresh and new.

And has promise that it could be great given half a chance. Ugly Betty is okay but I am usually out on Thursdays so I know I won't watch it much.

I thought that Brothers and Sisters was unwatchable, Friday Night Lights was fair (we gave up on it) and The Nine's pilot didn't hold my attention.

24. Tried a couple
Was bored with brothers and sisters, got upset at how they treat UGLY Betty-wow it wasn't funny to me even though I HATE being P.C. but who wears ponchos in NYC?-not realistic-as usual I am out of the loop since Grey's Anatomy was considered THE show to watch last year and I can't stand it-(it must be an age thing but damn it I don't want to see doctors obsessing about their inspid affairs with married men and their lost underwear-even though I do love Sandra Cho)

So not one new show for moi. Am looking forward to Daybreak-I think it's called- which is the mid season replacement for Lost-it has some people of color and looks interesting.

Usually you can count on my tastes to get a show cancelled. So far The Office is holding strong but I heard it has low ratings. And LOST is getting hard to care about but I'm hanging in. (Tried the Nine for ten minutes but didn't find the actors compelling and too much like Lost with backstories) Oh and HOUSE! now those are my kind of doctors! Cranky and saving lives in miraculous ways!

Hilarious. I was very skeptical because I loved the Ricky Gervais version so much, but Steve Carrell just kills me. We just started watching at the end of last season and now have watched Season 1 and most of Season 2 on DVD.

My favorite show, Huff, was cancelled. From Showtime, no less, as if they have much better programming to replace it. I loved that show.

But The Office cheers me up.

I think...the "Gaydar" episode. Hilarious.

Huff was beyond great. Blythe Danner deserved those Emmys, for sure. Best writing and characters on TV, for that short time. Really pissed me off that they didn't give it a chance to at least wrap up the story lines. I had a hard time even watching the final episode, because by then I knew it was cancelled.

House, Heroes, (I am now totally hooked to that as I am somewhat of a superheroes aficionado) Help Me Help You and of course, Law and Order.

I don't like any reality shows, especially Dancing With the Stars, The Bachelor, or any of those types of show. Gheeesh they are so superficial to me. I tried watching Ugly Betty but the few times I watched I was distracted so I couldn't catch it.
