Why is my life so backward?

So, my non-girlfriend and I are going to church tonight. She hasn't seen her church family since she's been back and so we're gonna go see em and listen to the sermon. I was raised in a non-religous house. But, we have a bible. I wanted a bible to bring with me so I can follow along.
I had to sneak the bible out of my parent's house. Like under my shirt.
Most kids sneak out cigarettes or booze when they're teenagers... I'm smuggling bibles out for fear of disaproval at 27. Oye.

1. Although I have two bibles on my bookshelf

I'd feel very self conscious walking around with one in my hand. However it's worse when you don't know what the heck is going on during the service. Lots of churches have bibles and/or prayer books for people to refer to. Was it fun?

2. I never take a bible to church.

I know the liturgy and the hymns are in the book. If I get their early, I read psalms from the front of the hymnal.

5. Me, too. You should have heard the responses when my wife and I told

the family we weren't having our kids baptized.

I went to church as a kid but only because I had to. I'm not having my children baptized just because it is "expected."
