1. I remember them trying to explain "covet...wife" to us 7 year olds
It was Saturday morning catechism. There was the catechism teacher, going through the commandments as she needs to, all ten of them. She explained one of the last ones: "Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife" meant the same as "thou shall not covet thy neighbor's donkey", which meant though shall not "steal the neighbor's donkey".

So, there I was, contemplating "stealing" my neighbor's wife.
How would a seven year old go about stealing Mrs. Pyzchishniak?
And why would I want to??
What would I do once I "stole" her???

The Old Testament can plant some strange ideas in one's head.

Yes I could see how that would be a tough one to explain.
