3. You bet I am.
I'm dressing as a nun for Halloween at work.

Usually I'm a witch, but that's so predictable. ::::cackle::::

I love this time of year. My parents, who have passed over, seem to be with me much more than usual.

4. Yep. I'm hoping it's less terrifying than last year's though.
I don't need to go through that again.

7. Ah --
My group has an alcohol/drug ban during rituals... which is probably a really good idea around a bonfire.

12. Merry Samhain y'all.
Edited on Tue Oct-10-06 02:59 PM by Reciprocity
Samhain and the new Celtic year actually begin at dusk on October 31, the beginning of the Celtic day. Oidhche Shamhna, the Eve of Samhain, was the most important part of Samhain. Villagers gathered the best of the autumn harvest and slaughtered cattle for the feast. The focus of each village's festivities was a great bonfire. Villagers cast the bones of the slaughtered cattle upon the flames. (Our word bonfire comes from these "bone fires.") With the great bonfire roaring, the villagers extinguished all other fires. Each family then solemnly lit their hearth from the one great common flame, bonding all families of the village together.

I would love to do this, but my only Wicca friends are on the internet.

19. My favorite sabbat
This year my 4 year old daughter is dressing up as Cinderella. I'm not sure if I'll dress up to take her out trick-or-treating but if I do, it will be as Queen of the Night. Then I'll sit out front and give out candy for a couple of hours. Most of my neighbors will be out too, having cook-outs in their driveways, drinking adult beverages and having a good time. After the kidlet is in bed, I'll do a private circle of remembrance.
