Anybody own a Roomba?

I'm thinking about getting one. I have mostly hardwood floors in my apartment, with linoleum kitchen floor, and throw rugs and an area rug in the living room, and ceramic tile in the bathroom.

Are they worth the price? Do they really work? Will my cat have a field day? What's the story with these things? Tell me everything!
