Actually make that Herndon, Virginia. I wish I had daytime here since there seems to be a ton of cool Civil War trails in the area...

But alas, only here for two days, and daytime I'm spending in classes and nights, well I hear DC isn't the greatest place to spend nights if you don't know where you're going.

Washington isn't as bad as its reputation, and you can always hang out in Georgetown and Old Town Alexandria if you want to feel extra safe. In both cases, you'll have to figure out the shuttle buses as well as the Metro, but it's not hard.
