and it is sort of an anti-war song, isn't it? I mean for the WWII era, it's on the outspoken side - in a melancholy way.

2. I agree, except
He sang it better in "Holiday Inn" than in "White Christmas." In "White Christmas" he sounded like an impersonator doing Bing singing White Christmas.

I also like Bette Midler's version on her new CD "The Rosemary Clooney Songbook."
