Actually, less than 19 hours. That includes three pit-stops and a 45-minute meal break. Central California DU-ers: I'm sorry, but the Central Valley is booooooring! Ugh! I napped the whole way through and I was DRIVING! :boring:

Oregon is beautiful this time of year, but it was dark by the time we crossed the border. And if you don't believe in global warming, ask yourself: What happened to the glaciers on Mt. Shasta?

1. My dear Aristus...........
I'm glad to hear your trip went smoothly by......

And I'm sad you didn't even have time to call.......

Mt. Shasta's glaciers are going away?

Here's a pic I took of it back in 2003..........

2. Well, I wish I'd been able to take a pic, CalPeg.

But it was almost completely brown with some white streaks. Even accounting for a warm summer in Northern Cali, it still looks bad.

On edit: here's a recent pic from Google Images:

3. I've made that trek many times
You're lucky you didn't get a speeding ticket in Oregon! They used to get me, one direction or the other, at least once a year. If you think central California is a boring drive, you won't ever want to drive from Los Angeles to Dallas! I was happy to see a "Don't pick up hitchhikers" sign in New Mexico...it was the highlight of my day! :boring: I will never, ever, drive that drive between Texas and California again. When/if I am ever fortunate enough to move west, again, I will either sell my car or ship it!

4. Oh! Forgot to mention: The drive-time factors in driving WITH the speed
limit. We did 60mph all the way through Oregon. Plus, we by-passed the 40mph Portland speed limit by taking the 205 into Washington.
