Ever have a whole conversation by yourself?
I was just talking away, about Hawaii, and my husband walked to the other side of the house without me realizing it. That was embarrasing...well, actually, more pathetic than anything.

Does that ever happen to you?

1. My friend Steve does it all the time.
Just the other day, I had this conversation on AIM with his wife:

SW: Steve was asking about you.
Me: Did Steve ask you or was Steve asking himself?
SW: It was really weird, but he actually asked me.
Me: Wow.

5. He holds entire arguments with himself down in his lair.
It's one of his charms, along with the fact that he looks like he stepped out of "Resevoir Dogs." I keep trying to get the both of them on DU, but no such luck. Basically, when I'm at their house we sit around drinking tea and ranting about the evils of the Bush administration.

4. I talk a lot to my cats, too,
but not both parts. Hmm...that would actually make more sense, I think than a one-way conversation! :-)

KC2 "Do you want to eat?"
cat "No. I jusmped up on the table and picked at the chicken that you are making while you set the table."
KC2 "I wish you wouldn't do that."
cat "Take it up with the union, Sis."

6. I always talked to my dog.
Now that he's gone, I still yell "Good Morning" to the hawks and herons -or I shout "How's the missus?" at them. I talk to the wild turkeys that come into the yard. But the only time I take both parts is when I talk to myself. Go figure.

7. God, all the time
And same thing- my SO will walk away during a pause, and I start going off about something after a moment, get no reply, and discover that he's in the bedroom or something.

12. Lol, yes, yes he does
There have been a number of times where I ended up frantically searching for him (only to find him halfway across the store.)

 I am still not sure who the ditz is in our relationship! :hi:

24. I do the same thing
Not really sure why.
It's because I spend so much time alone I guess. And I like to rehearse what I am going to say, especially if it's a difficult subject or something.

16. I'm sorry to read that your marriage is falling apart.
Your husband apparently does not give a fuck what you have to say.

Again, I'm sorry. He doesn't have common courtesy or respect. That is sad.

I wish you all of the best in the future.

28. Don't worry, Floogeldy didn't bother me,
...though, I guess he should have.

My husband and I have a very strong relationship. I don't know, maybe that's why I didn't take offense to the remark...because I know it is absurd.

Thanks, bicentennial_baby, for taking exception (for me) since I wasn't here to nurture this thread.:pals:

And, yes, using this: :sarcasm: might be a good idea, Floogeldy, unless you just enjoy making people upset.

22. Do it all the time
And I don't have to be talking to another person initially - I carry on conversations, out loud, with myself all the time. I've even argued out loud with myself and irritated myself so bad that I've been at the point of never speaking to myself again.

But we always make up. :)

23. Only if I'm really, really stoned
I can argue both sides of a position until I'm reasonably certain how I feel about it. But if the buzz wears off a bit I suddenly realize I'm talking to myself, and suddenly my debating partner isn't there anymore. And that's always disappointing.

Yes. Yes, it is.

26. I do it sometimes when I am wrestling with an issue.
And sometimes when I didn't realize consciously that I was wrestling with an issue.

Sometimes speaking an idea out loud works miracles in deciding whether it makes ethical, moral, logical, whatever sense; in ways that merely writing it simply do not offer.

31. Yep, it happens all the time.
In my household, it can take up to 5 minutes to
get an audible response from either of the male
humans that live here. Oh yes, they are famous
for walking away while I'm talking to them.

The male kitties are much more polite!

;-) :hi:
