The first Iron Chef America episode that I wish Jeffrey Steingarten was on

I am sitting here praying that Jeffrey is part of the judging panel. The judges haven't been introduced yet, and I as much as I hate that ignorant, arrogant son of a bitch, I'm praying to God he's on for this episode.

It's Cat Cora against Jon Shook & Vinny Dotolo.



And I am praying to God that Steingarten is there because I want to hear him say, before taking a first very hesitant bite, "I'm sorry, but I normally expect my chefs to have showered and made evidence that they at least understand the word hygiene."

at least, not that I could find.

They're two chefs who are "hip and trendy" by having long, unwashed hair, tattoes, they wear grunge clothing in their chef work, one guy has a headband ala what was popular by shitty hair bands in the 80s, and they both have that totally fake, horrible, cliche "tough white guy grunge seattle but we like to pretend we're Crips" bullshit look. And they look like they haven't bathed in weeks.

But on the other hand, they ARE kick ass chefs who totally the fuck know what they're doing.

It's just too bad they feel they need to have a specific, fakely generated "image" instead of just being who they are.
