This week's Human Sexuality thread will have no homework
I'll be out of town this weekend so I did it ahead of time. However, lecture and discussion will continue as normal.

This week's topics (I had a lot of reading to do) include loving relationships, communication, styles of sexual expression and sexual orientation- ask me anything. :)

PS I got 99 out of 100 on the last test, still getting a rather high A in the class. :D

3. He had "the gay" before I met him!
Or he instantly got it upon meeting me, but my stepdad acknowledges the kid appeared to always have "the gay."

4. While many people apparently believe in the enticement theory
(which suggests why so many people object to gay and lesbian scout leaders, teachers, etc) it is highly unlikely that exposure to Haruka will make a man gay. Women, maybe. ;)

OTOH, being around her may make him more comfortable with his own sexuality. It's sad that his mother has a problem with that.

18. I'm not making them gay. I'm just making them realize that they aren't a
Kinsey 0.

5. I was surprised that the textbook authors had a rather outdated view about
infant circumcision. I was shocked, thier other views are rather evidence-based and up to date.

6. What, that it may help prevent certain diseases?
Yup, they are still teaching that. Thanks.

10. You'd have to see the section,
it was shockingly biased. Not even "subject to debate" or "not recommended by health authorities" but a lot of really outdated data about preventing disease that simply isn't true, and some random crap about hygine. The worst part, though, is that it really doesn't give a very good explanation of how circumcisions are done, and really glosses over a lot of the problematic issues with the procedure. It really stood out from the rest of the book :(

the editors didn't want to feel bad about themselves.

Don't tell anyone!

22. That was my thought.
Chances are very good based on thier generation that they are cut and have cut children. Sometimes people have a hard time admitting they made a decision based on bad information.

8. It is interesting.
Mostly fun, but there are some behaviors that are no fun to read about. :( Mostly I enjoy it though. It's certainly my most interesting class.

 I was a Politics major, but never finished my degree....long story. I've toyed with the idea of going back, but don't know if I am motivated enough. I still need to ruminate on it....I'm inspired by you, though.

9. Where do babies come from?
My mother says that when a husband and wife pray together, God hears their prayers as one and sends a baby down the chocolate waterfall and over the mountains of gold in answer.

Personally, I suspect it really has something to do with anal fisting. What does your professor say about this?

12. I'm going to try to get my professor to say "anal fisting" now.
Apparently we have to watch the miracle of life video in a few weeks. If it's like the usual childbirth videos, we'll learn that babies come from hippie women with really fucking hairy beavers.

16. They *do* need to update those, don't they?
The one I saw in school in the '80s looked like it was shot in 1966. They're probably still showing it.

ed. They were all made in the 70s.
