I love Project Runway **spoilers**
That was a great move last night with allowing all four designers to have a show in Olympus Fashion Week. I was really disappointed with what Michael put out. On paper it looked like a great design but it just wasn't really well thoughtout, unlike most of his previous outfits. But if anyone should have been eliminated it should have been Jeffrey. The guy was either dead-on the tops or sucked royally and last night's Milk Maid outfit on crack was absolutely no exception!

At this point I have no clue who is going to win it, but I'm still in the Michael camp. Michael Kors gave him the best advice for putting together his show - stick with the sportswear, it really is what Michael (the contestant) does best!

1. Greatest. Reality show. Ever.
Michael has earned his shot at the runway show, though he seemed to be tempting fate last night. Jeffrey needed to be gonged last night - his nine lives are up. Ulli's dress was fantastic.

2. Yeah but the thing with Jeffrey - when he does well
It's extremely well. I think the judges felt that Jeffrey would probably be the bigges risk taker of the group and deserved that chance.

That thing was a mess. And plus the judges really came down hard on Kayne's couture dress which earned great accolades from the french Parson's director.

4. And Laura - geez
The basically took last weeks dress and modified it to have the neckline she uses for all of her outfits. The dress was very well made and personally - I loved it. But it was disappointing to see her cop out on that dress.

I think one problem with Michael's dress is they took away 6 hours from the time allotted. Michael has a tendency to see the finish product, not be happy with it and make profound changes that turn into winning looks. Knowing that this was no longer an option he had to sell what he created!

10. I like Jeffrey
He's a complex guy. He thinks about things. He can be a real ass, but then he cries when his baby son calls him on the phone for Father's Day. He's the only one who has talked about how he's motivated by his family as well as himself.

Plus, I like his edgy rock n' roll clothes. I just got the greatest pair of black Prada cigarette pants! Gonna wear them with some gothy ankle boots and a cool T-shirt, and I'm ready for the stage (in my fantasy life)!

6. They were all predictable last night.
I could tell who designed what without seeing the show. Michael disappointed me. Wasn't his finest work. Still don't know what the judges saw in Ulli's dress. Laura, ugh. Still all bitty boobs and belly button.

Have you heard the latest about Jeffrey (ToysR-Us giraffe neck)

http://nymag.com/news/intelligencer/21688/

How bad at sewing is Project Runway final-four contestant Jeffrey Sebelia? A few months ago, the show’s uneliminated contestants left the supervision of the producers to go home and work on their collections. But when they returned for their group show at Bryant Park, fellow contestant Laura Bennett accused Sebelia of cheating. Three weeks earlier, Tim Gunn, Parsons fashion design chair and the show’s mentor, had visited Sebelia in L.A. and declared, “He had a lot of work to do.” Word reached Bennett, whose mother had met and become friendly with Sebelia’s mother. Upon seeing Sebelia’s miraculously finished collection, Bennett told the producers she believed Sebelia had outsourced his sewing—which would disqualify him. “His collection was very ambitious,” says Gunn. “I wasn’t born yesterday.” Adding fuel to the fire was Sebelia’s rather unfinished style of construction throughout the show. “We took the accusation very seriously, and we did a very intense and thorough investigation,” says Gunn. Bravo would not allow him to reveal the resolution. The three finalists will be revealed September 27, and the winner October 18. Sebelia didn’t return calls.

7. uli's dress rocked.
i was very surprised -- pleasantly.

although i shouldn't have been considering her evening gown for the couture show.

her's was the only outfit that i thought met the rules of the challenge.

though laura stated that she was going to play to her strengths as she set out designing the outfit.

i remain unimpressed with michael -- his stuff is simply not new or fresh at all.

in the beginning i thought he was going to throw down -- but now i'll have to wait and see what gives at bryant park.

i think uli and laura might pull a couple of rabbits out of their hand bags.

they seem to be geting what michael, nina and heidi are telling them and are willing to adapt.

9. Ramsey's Weekly PR Analysis
I was really surprised how much trouble the designer's had with last night's challenge. You'd think the instructions to showcase their particular talents and vision would have produced some of their best work. I think they got hung up on the advice to "wow the judges" and to think outside the box while being true to themselves.

Uli really needed to win this one, or I think she would have been the next to go. She had to show that she could do something other than the same long flowy print sundress that she has done nearly every week. I think she stepped up to the plate, although honestly I wasn't as impressed with her dress as the judges. Granted, it was a different silhouette for her. It was definitely the best outfit of the challenge. It had some nice design details like the skinny keyhole, the little train from the neck, and I liked the way she mirrored the pattern of the fabric across the front and sides of the dress. Even so, I wonder what her runway show will look like, because she has yet to create anything other than a lovely printed sundress (even though this one was a mini). Her dresses are beautiful, but she just doesn't seem to have a lot of versatility.

The other three all had major issues last night. Laura made the next best outfit, but frankly it was the same damn dress she has sent down the runway almost every week. She always does a cocktail dress with a slim silhouette and a beaded skirt. Very wearable but yawn! I am concerned that she will also have a very "one note" runway show. Having said that, the dress was impeccably made, well fitted and very true to her aesthetic.

Jeffrey takes the most risks, and he certainly did with this challenge, deciding to do something totally different than his edgy rock n' roll look that he knows the judges expect to see. I didn't think his dress was that bad. I might actually wear it, though I'm not a big fan of red, white and blue as a color combo. I think it was well made, and whether it appeals to you or not, that voluminous bubble skirt with a slim top is a very current silhouette. That shape has been all over the fall runways, so it was a timely look (not my personal favorite). Jeffrey's done better and he's done worse. I give him credit for showing individuality and thinking outside his comfort zone, he just didn't quite pull it off. I probably look most forward to his runway show, because it will either be brilliant or a disaster, but it will definitely be interesting.

Michael was a big disappointment last night. His dress was ugly, sloppy and sleazy looking. His model looked like her boobs were going to fall out at any moment. I couldn't understand his "three words", I have never seen him as striving for such overt sexiness in his designs. Michael can do such lovely, if somewhat conventional, clothes, and put together coherent looks. He did neither with that dress. He thought in order to wow the judges he had to make a dramatic gown, rather than play to his stengths. The judges were so right that he should have stuck with a sportswear look, where he can excel. His worst outfits have been his evening gowns.

When they went to the last commercial break, I was actually thinking that I didn't want to see either Jeffrey or Michael go, because they had both shown such potential. I figured if the decision was based solely on this challenge, then Michael would be eliminated because his dress really sucked. If the judges considered consistency across all the challenges, then Jeffrey would have to go, because he's either the winner or at the bottom each week.

I was really glad they kept them both. I think they'll probably both do more interesting runway shows than either Laura or Uli, who will both do a lot of nice dresses that all look the same.

13. I could not see you in that milk maids dress
That was beyond hideous. He AND Michael both tried to do something outside of their normal strengths (and you have to give them credit for that) and I think both dresses were horrible. One was way too sleezy and the other was way to 'Rebecca-of-Sunnybrook-farms' like.

I'm wondering how much had it hurt when the cut off the hours given to design the dress with the photo shoot. I got the impression that after the shoot, they wrapped it up and went home. One thing that Michael was notorious for throughout the show is taking a second-look at the dress and possibly redoing parts of it as needed. Since he didn't have that opportunity he had to sell the crap he made. If anything, his dress reminded me of some of the stuff he showed on the casting special they had before the season start (where you get to see all the folks trying out and some of their work). I saw Michael's stuff and it was all kinda sleazy looking. I can honestly say I was disappointed.

But having now watched all three seasons, I think this is the first time where they clearly had four very talented and quite distinct designers who will all probably be successful in their niche. Uli will design in Miami for the Miami-look, Jeffrey will be LA-Based with his LA-look and Michael will be based in Atlanta with his Atlanta-look. And Laura will design for really skinny 40+ uptight crowd. (not sure where she is from).

16. OK, probably not
It wasn't really my style. But it wasn't THAT bad in the whole scheme of things. More boring than hideous.

The timing hurt Michael for sure, it didn't even look like he really finished the dress, much less rethink it.

And yes, the finale should be very good, and we'll see a lot of distinctive looks, so it was nice they kept all four.

12. My wife and daughter watch that.
They have tried to tell me all about this show until I thought I was going to lose my mind, so I turned on the inner "Socialist Slugger" and lambasted them about how many kids died in the Horn of Africa while they were watching that drek or the illogic of watching RICH fashion geeks judge fashion geek wannabees for about 15 minutes while we torture people in Iraq...

Results: at least they don't try to TELL me about it anymore. I don't make them turn it off, I just hang out in the garden, drinking a beer and listening to NPR until they get tired of it, or feel guilty about my self-exile. Works pretty well, actually.

"I Pardon You." ...from advice to Amon Goeth by Oscar Schindler.

PS: don't get offended, now. True confessions: I LOVE to watch IMPACT, COPS, and JACKASS.

14. You think PR is drivel....
But you watch COPS?

Pretty much all of television, or at least 99% of it, is mindless drivel that has no redeeming social or intellectual value. You might make some exception for PBS and the History Channel.

Personally, I like to have one hour of brainless vacuous escapist entertainment a week. (I don't watch any other TV shows.) It keeps me from becoming too cranky after a long hard week of taking care of really sick people.

I enjoy fashion, I like fashion magazines and I enjoy seeing what these designers do with each challenge. At least this show is about creativity and ability, as opposed to how awful people are to each other, or how cut throat they can be, or how many live cockroaches they are willing to swallow.

The designers on the show aren't rich. They are struggling middle class workers for the most part. Their talent happens to be in making clothes and I don't think anyone should criticize them for that. The judges are well off because they have been successful entrepreneurs. The American Dream and all that. I'll never understand why so many DUers think it's a mortal sin for people who have worked hard to be well compensated for their years of education and paying their dues in the rat race.

You don't think fashion is a worthy topic, fine. But to denigrate your wife and daughter, and us, for enjoying it is pretty hypocritical, and well, just humorless. You admonish us not to be offended, but your smug judgmental assessment is offensive. I'm glad I don't have to live with that and that my husband, who I assure you has no interest in fashion, has the good grace to watch the show with me, or talk to me about it if he hasn't. Not because he likes it, but because I do, and he likes anything that makes me happy, even if it's frivolous and short-lived.

17. Hey, Hey! Easy there Tex!
I merely expressed MY dubious opinion, then followed it up with the disclaimer for MY drivel.

If someone wants to watch WWF, be my guest! The stuff I did on the wife and daughter was merely a method to get them to stop touting THEIR drivel. They can watch whatever they choose as long as they don't insist I join in the "fun." THAT was the theme of my little posty thingy.

To each his own DRIVEL, I say.

As to Heidi Klum as the mentor of the "New Horatio Alger Story"...You're watching TELEVISION here.

You really are welcome to watch whatever you want, as am I, no matter how silly either of us views the others' choices.

Let's not be REALLY silly here, shall we?

22. The ending was cowardly IMHO
They probably thought Uli was going to do another hippie print halter party dress which would allow them to "auf" her for being too one-note or something. But she fooled them and it turned out the golden boy and the bad boy (both of whom they want in the final 3) messed up. Guess what? That happens all the time in competition. Not auf'ing either Jeffrey or Michael was nothing but blatant favoritism. I would've auf'ed Jeffrey myself since Michael's been the stronger contestant but there would have been justification for aufing Michael. It was an ugly unflattering dress -- I've always hated that neckline -- and for once, he couldn't defend it on the runway.

The reunion should be a lulu. Tim Gunn indicated that quite a lot went down during the taping.

26. I'm going to disagree with that
First, this is a talent contest and NOT a game of chance. The reason that I enjoy Project Runway is because I love fashion and I know that the people on that show not only have some talent but will probably make some form of career out of it.

All four of those last designers, Uli, Michael, Laura, and Jeffrey, have consistantly shown great work throughout the contest. And each of them have a very unique style to boot. I have not seen that in the first two seasons so I was glad they kept both Jeffrey and Michael. Both of them deserved to be considered and technically both of them would have had a show in Bryant Park. The final Runway show was already done earlier this week before the season is even finished. In previous years, the 4th place person actually still gets a runway show but just doesn't get it featured on the finale of Project Runway or have a chance to win the prize. But since the runway show is filmed before the season finale, they allow all 4 contestants to put on a show just so that they ending is not spoiled. I've read where the best runway show from last season was actually Kara Janx, and she was the 4th place finisher.

If either Michael or Jeffrey had been Auf'd they would have still had a runway show. Personally, I think both of them do better work than being stuck at INC for a year as an intern but I think Michael would have the better fit than Jeffrey. But I can almost guarentee that all 4 of them will have strong careers in the fashion industry

36. You're absolutely correct in your observations but...
...when Jeffrey was on - he was doing amazing stuff. I have to agree with Ramsey that the paper dress he did for the recycled contest was definately better than Michael's. And even though I was not keen on his couture dress, it was still the best as defined by what couture is. Michael, Uli and Laura's sucess was based on prety much doing the same thing each week although Michael did know how to mix it up and show some variety. Jeffrey was the biggest risk taker of the four and perhaps that earned him a trip to the finals.

If they had to do this, then it should have been late season: I really like Kara Janx, and her "decoy" line was the best received at Fashion Week. And, IRL, she's been way more successful than anyone else in the finals. I also just liked her better.

That gal with the big afro (can't remember her name) has been with Michael a long time and I think somewhat of a Muse for her. He started winning when they started working together (She picked him for the Fashion Icon competition) and he's put together some great stuff.

I think Uli knew that and figured she'd take her away!

Uli even said when its down to the wire, you take every advantage you can. However, it was fair, she had the pick and she didn't have any obligaiton not to pick any model she wanted.

Jeffrey's model Maralinda is really good, I think she's really helped him showcase some of his outfits.
