6. 29...
I think it is funny.. My family tries to keep me from moving away. And they don't really give a shit when I am here. And yes I know I'm being lame expecting them to remember my b-day.

If you feel you should go, go. I would, I did.
If your fam just wants to bind you, go.
If they won't give you cause to stay but only compels you with words, go.
True loyalty, like love or respect, is meaningless under duress, and worthless if not reciprocated.

Happy Birthday today, nevertheless, and may you greet the next one with no regrets.

31. Well, I don't mean to tread
on a sensitive topic, if beer is, but it certainly cannot be all you've got.
You're here, aren't you?
Personally I favor the final delicacy, which has led me into no trouble, as opposed to the liquid varieties :eyes:

27. you have to start hinting like, four weeks in advance
do you have a lot of males in your family or something? seriously, some persons are never going to remember anyone's birthday or get anyone an appropriate gift unless they are led by the freakin' hand step by step

the advantage of this is that you can pretty much get them to get you exactly what you want if you spell it out and leave it in no doubt

but if you wait around expecting to be surprised, look, they ain't gonna change, some people are just hopeless about stuff like that, you've got to lay it on the line exactly what you want, when, and where

now i'm assuming a situation where you have people of good will, if you are talking passive aggressive shitheads, my only advice is to fuck 'em and forget 'em and this time next year be having your birthday party w. people who can appreciate you because passive aggressive shitheads don't change either

I've not had anyone remember my b'day in almost 35 years....

sucks to be born on New Year's Eve... the rest of the world parties, but not for you.

enjoy those that remember, forgive those that don't.

41. I started a tradition when I was about your age....
I came to understand that my birthday was my day. A day to be totally selfish. I would take the day off, sleep late and answer any question or request to me with a no, if I didn't like it and wouldn't explain why. I would go see a movie hang out or not do anything at all.

But most of all, every year and only on my birthday, no other day of the year, I will treat myself to a Banana split. Full on, all the extra's. I know if that I had a really crappy past year, at least I will have a banana split at the beginning of the next.

Life is short, why make is shorter by not having a little fun?

Cheers!!!
