HEY Y'ALL! I GOT A JOB OFFER TODAY!

I dropped all my company-owned office stuff and files at the north Seattle office today, then headed across Lake Washington for an interview. Got a job offer; in fact, the guy who interviewed me would have hired me right then. I told him I wanted to think about it for a little bit, which he was agreeable to.

But hey. getting a job offer less than two hours after losing a job is pretty damned cool, eh?

I'm leaning toward taking it, but did want to think about it. My primary concern is how much of a caseload I'd have in the beginning. My industry is referral-based, and sometimes going to a new company means a lower caseload initially.

But I will be making a decision soon.

Requires a bachelor's/master's degree and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

47. That's pretty much what I do.

Though I don't find people jobs. What I do is assess their employability, given any limitations they have due to an on-the-job injury. I work the the employers to see if there is any type of modification that can be done to the person's job, or if there is another position at the company they could do. If not, I look at their entire work history, to see if there is something in their past work history they could do. If that's not possible, then I work with them to design a retraining plan so they can learn a new job.
