Poll question: What's a better first date: A movie or a concert?
Edited on Mon Sep-25-06 06:13 PM by brainshrub
I scored two tickets to a concert on Friday, and I'm planning to ask out someone I've had my eye on. However, now I'm wondering if a movie might be a better idea for a first date, since any activity that discourages me from talking is a good thing.

On the other hand, the band in question is pretty good and lots of fun. (For the record, it's Mad Tea Party.)

I'm planning to call her in an hour, what do you think?

1. if you have the tickets, go ahead and ask...
a concert seems better than a movie...for example, if a date had two tickets to a metallica show, but decided to take me to dinner instead...boy, I would be ticked! Go ahead and ask...:)

4. Dinner will be included either way.
Plus, the tickets didn't cost that much.

I'm just nervous that the more opportunities I have to talk, the bigger of a doof I'll seem. I might sould like a teen, but I haven't been on a date in a long time. (I've been in a committed relationship for the last five years.)

2. you already are opting for the concert... and it's great you've thought
about it.

Movies can be kind of tricky, anyway.

3. Other:
Ask her to the concert (dinner); it's good to share something that you like -- but offer a backup (another night; movie, dinner), if she's busy (or doesn't like the group).

And make the alternate option easy to choose, so she doesn't have to say why she chooses it.
