WTF - a ton of stores are already geared up for Christmas?
I was in Lowe's, JC Penney, Target, Wal-Mart and a few other places this weekend and they all had a ton of Christmas stuff out. JC Penney had a huge snow globe going full blast blowing snow over Frosty...

Did they decide to skip over Halloween & Thanksgiving?

We haven't even had our first frost in Connecticut yet.

What's up?

Are they gearing up for War on Christmas 2006?

1. I recall a few years ago,
xmas trees were up in late August.

None of this is any real surprise.

2. Every year, this shit gets earlier and earlier.
Back in the UK, I got used to seeing Christmas cards and decorations hitting the shelves in August. I always thought that Thanksgiving in the US provided a nice buffer to all the Yuletide insanity, confining it to a sensible month of hysteria. Now it seems, once Labor Day has passed, Xmas is here.

So I guess it's actually getting earlier, since it's still September. Oy. x(
