Even if you could afford to...
why would you spend $6 million on a wedding?

One of the Wal-mart heirs, Whitney Kroenke is getting married here, (Columbia, Missouri) this weekend. The rumors are that the wedding is costing $6 million!

Both Mom (Ann Kroenke, Bud's daughter) and Dad (Stan, owner of several sports teams, real estate, etc) are loaded but what a waste of money!

$6 Million on a wedding? Not even if I could!

That kind of money would be a lot better spent make the lives of Wallyworld's employee's better!

3. That would be great!
It's so disgusting! There are huge Jim Talent signs at every Wal-mart here. Even at the 2 new Super Centers that are in the process of going up. A lot land that shopping centers are on around here is owned by Kroenke and they plaster those Talent signs all over them! However, just driving through neighborhoods, there are a lot more McCaskill signs in yards.

4. Oh hell no.
Of course, I wouldn't have any interest in anybody who would stand by and allow that kind of waste to take place in their name, either.

5. No, I never would
but if someone else can afford it and wants to more power to them.
It provides a lot of revenue to small businesses like caterers, tux rental,
florists, etc

7. There are some local vendors
that are being used, but both the bride and groom live in LA and a lot of the business went to vendors out there. It look like a coffee place, a florist, and an ice company are the few local vendors. There may be a few more the paper didn't talk about. They also registered at a local antique shop who apparently has sold almost everything on their list, so I guess it was good business for them.

The hotels and restaurants are getting good business this weekend anyway because of the football game.

They are still small businesses.

I'd rather give $6 million to charities and foundations that help others.

9. I can't condemn the bride completely
I just found a blurb in the an article that says she is involved with Little Angels Pug Rescue and donates money, works events, and fosters rescued pugs. Apparently she's also involved in a Environmental Awareness Group called Ecolutions. But still, $6 Million????? For a wedding?????

12. that's what I plan to do
as soon as I win the powerball. I'm going to marry lynnesin. And hey, it's going to cost alot of money to get Jesse Jackson to perform the ceremony and to get Donovan McNabb to give away the bride and to get Led Zeppelin to re-unite and play for the wedding dance.

Imagine the possibilities of what you could do with $6 million. Keep alot of struggling caterers from going hungry.

was that Stan was going to bring in the Stones for the reception. His company said it was false.

15. I don't know why I would.
If I had hundreds of millions of dollars (or whatever this family is worth), I might be able to find wedding "things" to spend $6 million on. I can't fully comprehend it right now, because I've never had the amount of worth at my disposal to make a $6 million dollar wedding anywhere within the stratosphere of doable.

16. For that price, I'd buy up wooded land and keep it from developers.
I might stick a small observatory in the middle.

20. I wouldn't...
ever spend that much on a wedding...for my wedding, I believe we spent...200 bucks on the wedding, but both tammy and I wanted a low brow, no flair wedding...we just wanted friends/family...

We got married in the traditional cherokee way, and it was rather...different, but neither one of us wanted a church wedding, which did put both of our mothers off a bit, but they didn't fuss to much..
