Today in music history 9-22
2004 - Homeland Security officials said Yusuf Islam-formerly known as singer Cat Stevens-will be deported after being denied entry to the U.S. Stevens had recently been placed on a government "no-fly" list. While authorities tackle Yusuf and beat him unconscious, three radicals board the plane with 6 bottles of Avian water, nose-hair clippers and "Hot to Trot Ruby Red" fingernail polish. President Bush is said to be "elatedfied".

1992 - Def Leppard is forced to cancel two shows after their sound equipment truck is found abandoned, after the driver allegedly tried to rob a store. A new driver was found and the band broke out in applause. That is all but Rick Allen who commented "Hell, I could have driven the truck single-handedly".

1965 - The Who begin a short tour of Scandinavia in Copenhagen; Roger Daltrey punches out Keith Moon and is all but kicked out of the band. This tour was booked as "The Who's 3rd annual farewell tour". There will eventually be 38 more farewell tours to follow.

Happy Birthday to Joan Jett (46). I won't say anything funny about her because I don't want her to beat my ass.

Happy 57th birthday to David Coverdale. I won't say anything funny about him either because.... well, just look at his picture.

1998 - Kiss releases the CD "Psycho Circus". A month earlier to the day, Echo Grove (my band) releases "Psycho Magnet". "Psycho Circus" goes Gold, "Psycho Magnet" goes Nickle Alloy.

1995 - Michael Jackson was inducted into the Black Entertainment's Television Walk of Fame. Ooops.

1974 - The Sonny Bono Comedy Revue' was shown for the first time on ABC-TV. It is rated lowest of the three networks up against, NBC's "History of the test pattern" and CBS's "Live on stage: An intimate night with Pia Zadora".

It was a slow day in Music History.

3. He is a singer that was in Whitesnake
He also sang in a band with Jimmy Page. And if I remember correctly, he was in Deep Purple for a while too.
