Be honest, Guys: Do you ever get sick of lifting stuff for us?
I've noticed, living life as a rather petite woman, that I somewhat frequently request the help of a man to reach/lift something for me (when I'm physically unable).

Sometimes I think, you know, guys must get pretty sick of lifting/reaching/moving shit for women all the time.

Am I right? 'Cause if I am...

1. no, not really...
what usually pisses me off, is when i start any new job, I am the one doing all the back breaking work, because of my size...If I had a dollar for each time I heard this...

"Damn, you are a big guy and can handle this, now move all the freight from point A, to point B" Damn...every single job I have had...I get stuck doing the heavy lifting...but when its something like you mention in your OP, it doesn't bother me at all...I get it all the time at grocery stores too, when shorter people are trying the best to grab whatever's on the top shelf...they look at me, and I can read their eyes...and I help them out...:) btw, I'm 6'4

3. I'm petite, but I'm also like a human monkey.
In public, I'll ask someone to reach for me, but when I worked a stock job, I just climbed everything. Then again, I'm also prone to see a rock wall randomly and deciding to freeclimb it. I also lucked out on being able to carry about 70lbs (I weigh 100-105lb), so usually the only time I need to ask someone to carry stuff is if it's an unwieldy shaped box or something.

Honestly, at my stock job, guys would often declare they needed a case of juice carried to their cars for them. It was hilarious seeing their reaction when I was the person paged to help them. I'd also insist on carrying it and I almost always would get tips for it.

I'm tiny, but pretty f'n strong. I don't need help much, unless something's just overlarge and awckward. Some guys take it personally.

And not just for you petite women. Anyone that's physically unable, or for what I'm physically more able, I'm happy to oblige. Age, size and gender don't matter much to me.

26. I like your attitude
And speaking as a petite woman, I share it completely. Where I can help, I do. And where I need help (usually in the reaching stuff on high shelves dept since I'm short), I politely ask for it and thank the helper.

What ever happened to people just wanting to help other people?

28. I don't know, but I can say this
the lack of folks being nice or helpful seems rampant. In the last week I can think of three specific examples where I did something very minor (waiting a the door, then opening it for a senior for example) where the look of shock and the surprise in their voice when they said "thank you" made me almost feel bad.

35. I helped a guy I know in college when he was dragging something
out to his car and helped an old guy get a lawn mower out of his trunk. It does not bother me, as a puny guy, to show off or be helpful. I did pass through a phase though when I felt like a woman was not gonna buy an ox if plowing was free.

31. It depends on how I'm asked, usually...
If someone barks an order at me in the supermarket, or assumes that I have time to stand around while they peruse the labels on five different brands of canned asparagus, then they're lucky if a dirty look is all they get. However, if they ask nicely (perhaps even with a smile and a "please") then I'm more than happy to oblige. (And in the spirit of being honest, I mind a lot less if the asker is hot...)
