3. I lay on the couch with my face toward the back with a nice cushy
pillow and a blanket, and PBS on the television...really low. It reminds me of my childhood and I fall right to sleep.

12. I can't.
I'm useless at sleeping during the day - with the sole exception of Sundays after a long boozy lunch...so I can't help, but you have my sympathies. :hi:

24. I highly recommend Tylenol PM.
Not for a nap, but for a good night's sleep. I don't use it often, but the times I have - they have been heavenly sleep.

25. Unfortunately,
I'm prohibited from taking any tylenol products. I've heard from other people too that Tylenol PM works well, but not for me. :(

But thank you for the confirmation. It's good to know what works so I can mention it to others. :)

28. Have you tried Melatonin?
I've heard that is effective as well. Plus, it's a more natural route.

22. Hmmm first
I try the old fashioned clear your mind route

usually doesn't work.

Then I may try the old "please yourself, roll over and go to sleep route".

sometimes works.

If not, I do the get plastered route.

usually works.

26. Naps are a luxury.
sleeping during the day just doesn't happen on my end. I envy you that time.
However, I have used our hot tub (or a hot bath) to great effect in the evening times when I need help falling asleep.

31. First, don't sweat it too much.
Darken the room, put the radio or hi-fi on at a very low volume. Ideally, you want to hear a human talking--maybe a book on tape or a cooking show or something, and just lay down and close your eyes. Relax your back, and just be content that you have some time to rest. If you fall asleep, great; if not, you've at least rested.

Well, it works for me, more or less. I hate it when I can't sleep, but I do try to appreciate rest.
