1 toasted laptop
My work computer. She lasted 3 whole months. Total piece of shit. Graphics are totally blown, running Explorer takes 100% of the CPU. HP has NO explanation nor any idea why.

I don't give a shit, I didn't pay for it. Set me back 2 days worth of work though. New one getting overnighted and should have it tomorrow.

Put a fucking man on the moon, no problemo. Make a box with two moving parts (3 if you have a CD/DVD in there) that relies on one albeit shitty program, impossible.

You were so happy when you got it, too. Post up some reviews at cnet, epinions, etc so others know to stay away from that model.

3. Nope, I'll wait.
The HP I have for my home system is great, BUT, at the price of one toasted system. When I bought it, the box lasted 5 minutes before the partitions blew. Got a brand new one, no problems (knock wood).

If the next one works out okay, then I'll chalk it up to a dud (yet another HP dud). Next one tanks, then we'll probably change brands altogether. It's under warranty, so HP can eat this one...and the next one...and the next one, until some asshole gets it right.

4. So at best they're batting .500?
That'd be get 'em to Cooperstown for sure if this were baseball, but that's not so great for quality control.

(See, at least one of us can make a sports reference.)

11. Only if the replacement works flawlessly.
Otherwise, they'll be at .250 (.333 now).

5. That sucks. I'm sorry.

I have gone through 3 computers at work in 2 years. I can sympathize.

Hopefully your work isn't too deadline intensive, or those 2 days could be killer.

9. Hahahahahahaha!!!
Deadline intensive? Noooooooo. In my industry 2 days is long enough to be destructive almost infinitely. I'm getting calls almost hourly on my cellphone about this $1.5 million closing that's about to get blown. On top of that, my chaos management skills say, "log in through your home system!" Yeah, right. Gotta be on the big corps network to get shit done. Don't get on big corps network without one of big corps 'puters.

Not how I'd have planned it, and not how this will work moving forward. Trust. Me.

laptop last year, in March...and it lasted a whopping six months before going out...she has another Dell that seems to be doing well, again...top of the line.

Man on the moon? Okay. Electronics with few moving parts? Craptacular.

I had a dell from 2001, that is still going..I gave it to my buddy two years ago, and he is still using it...not problems... Maybe the new stuff is just crap, or we are just cutting through all the crappy ones.

15. Possibly, yes.
Still frustrating that the Honda Civic from 2001 is probably running as well as the 2006 version and vice versa.

13. That's because NASA spent what it cost , did it right and didn't outsource
Now that they do everything on the cheap, thier equipment doesn't work either.
