Fashion question for a wedding.
I will be attending my nephew's wedding next month. It will be held in a private home, not a church. I have been out of the mainstream fashion world so long that I decided to turn to you fashion-savvy females here at DU. The wedding will be in the late afternoon and the bride and groom will be in formal attire (of course). I am not part of the wedding party, just a relative attending the event.

OK, back to my question. I bought a pair of beautiful sequined and beaded jeans a month ago and have not yet worn them. There are pink and aqua sequins and beads on the legs and pockets. I also bought a pink silk blouse that matches the pink sequins. The jeans are quite dressy. Would this be appropriate to wear to the wedding? Otherwise, I guess I will just have to go shopping for some dignified suit or dress.

1. Would it be possible to post a picture of the jeans?
I don't think I would wear jeans to a formal wedding, but obviously what you are talking about are not just knock-around blue jeans. A picture would help.

What you might think about doing, though, is get some nice slacks, or a simple skirt.

You will have to click on enlarge, but the photo does not do them justice. But looks like from all the other replies, I will have to go shopping for something more dignified.

3. No.
Really, if it's a formal occasion, pants of any sort are questionable, and even the fanciest pair of jeans in the universe are right out.

Get an elegant but non-flashy skirt and jacket in a neutral color and you can't go wrong. A nice cream or tan one might even go nicely with the blouse you got.

8. Good advice. Thanks
I am not sure yet if it is formal, but I will check with my sister, the groom's mother. To tell you the truth, I hate attending weddings, but since this is family, I am obligated.

5. Sorry, but no jeans.
Unless the wedding is being held in a field with a barbecue.

7. Actually, just about.
It's being held in the backwoods of Ellijay, Georgia.

9. These things usually go on forever.
I usually try to forget fashion and wear something beautiful and flowing(loose). Jeans can be so binding which is excruciating if they have inadequate bathroom facilities.
