I swear I"m eating fricking cat food for lunch
I've been so great with watching what foods I eat trying my best to stay away from overly processed foods. I've gleefully packed my lunches everyday and avoid chocolate like the plague.

Anyhow, I've had in my deskdrawer at work now for about 2 months a can of seasoned Bumblebee Tuna in a can that comes with the crackers. I figured if there was ever a day I didn't get my lunch packed and didn't have time to run out to the store during lunch, this could be my failsafe lunch.

So I open the can of tuna (it's lemon & pepper flavored) and I swear it looked like a can of cat food. Smells like it and if my cats were around they'd be thinking their dishes were getting filled right about now.

But as a side note - the tuna doesn't taste that bad. I've had regular tuna in a can that was unseasoned and could barely choke it down. I think the seasoning helps

1. My cats would be there is a snap.
Any can, it doesn't matter what's in it, it must be cat food!

I have cans of stuffed grape leaves (one of my favorite snacks). The cats jump everywhere trying to get some just because it comes in a can.

Sorry for the tangent. :P

2. It's a pavlovian response
the sound of a can opening means food is coming soon. And in my house, there aren't really that many foods that I enjoy that come in a pull top can

3. Pull top cans or can opener
Our cats come running for both. It's a great way to get them out from under a bed or make sure you don't shut them in a room accidental. One push on the can opener and they come quickly.
I'm fixing to open a pull top can of pears in a sec and there they'll be.

4. I do that all the time
I don't like my cats in the bedroom when I'm not around especially because Evita is a notorious pisser if she can find some clothing to pull on the ground and piss on. Last time when I went away for a few days I was leaving after lunch. Normally they get fed in the morning so I skipped opening their can until about 15 minutes before I was ready to leave.

Works like a charm

7. You got you a piss cat too?
I guess every house has one of their own

Most of our cats (13 between the two houses) would be hard to place with people that want a "perfect cat", they all have "issues". Our oldest is blind but he can walk around my entire house and back yard just like ones that can see. Only when he gets a little spooked does he lose his bearings and run into something.

5. Lemon Pepper tuna in a can scares me...
probably because I once had some frozen lemon fish filet that my sister & I agreed tasted like what we imagined lemon pinesol to taste like.

:scared:

8. I am so weird about tuna. I can only stand the solid white stuff.
The chunk light makes me hurl.

10. Hell I love tuna sushi
Even Seared Tuna (which will still have some rawness to it).

But tuna in a can was a tough take. When I ran out of crackers and there was some left- I threw it away

11. PF Chang's has a fabulous ahi tuna appetizer.
Lightly seared with a fantastic mustard sauce.

Completely different from Bumble Bee, that's for sure.

13. We had Toro at Morimotos the other week
That's the Fatty Tuna, probably the best part for sushi.

9. When I first got my current cat
I was feeding her Sheba cat food but I had to stop. I kept smelling it whenever I fed her and knew it was only a matter of time until I tried some on a cracker. The stuff actually looks and smells pretty good :)

12. I used to sit near the office microwave....
Of course, it was NEVER cleaned.

I often thought my office mates were going to be attacked when they got home. They'd taken the catfood to work & heated it up for lunch!

14. That actually sounds pretty good.
I like to eat tuna out of the can. Not the cat's tuna though. I didn't know they made it seasoned.
