Need advice. Do I have legal recourse against LynneSin?
Yesterday she promised me her car if and when she expired from eating e-coli laced spinach.

Today, she says she is still alive, so no car.

How do I know for sure she's alive? Should I take her word for it?

Isn't it entirely possible that she took the Eagles loss so seriously that she is no longer with us?

This is a conundrum, lounge. Please advise.

1. it's a verbal contract based on a conditional promise
was there a date of expiration on the promise.

if she didn't die today, you're SOL.

to determine whether she is alive, you could contact the constabulary in her town to do a wellness check and have them report their findings to you.

2. I think that is the best course of action. I really don't think she is
still alive. No one could eat that much spinach and survive.

10. Whattaya mean, 'verbal contract?'
It was a promise in writing and witnessed by a metric buttload of people and their sockpuppets!

3. You aware that all DUers except you are really the same person, right?
I am contracted to create this fantasy blog and all its characters. I do have a staff of clerks to assist me in posting, and to keep my characters going while I grab some sleep from time to time.

We've been wondering about you, though? How did you get in here? Why do you believe this is all real? I must admit it is sometimes inspirational to bounce ideas off someone not in on the joke, but it's kind of creepy that you think all these people really exist. Kind of like those people who accost soap opera actors on the streets because their characters are so mean.

I guess I am flattered that you fell for it. It means my writing skills are improving. My boss will be happy.

4. I KNEW IT!!!!
I have suspected this for years. That Skinner dude had me going for a while, what with being a mod and all.

Good work, jobycom! I Salute You!

5. Well, now that you know
You may call me Mabel. I live in the Cayman islands--better tax breaks.

Yes, Skinner was actually not my creation. My boss handed me the character sketch of a shadowy Dungeon Master-like figure who would become a political force in a divided nation called America. This America was loosely based on the old "United States of America," a publicly held corporation which was swallowed up by several private oil companies and media conglomerates on December 12th, 2000. We wanted a sort of "What if?" think piece about what a resistance in that new corporation would look like.

If someone complains tell them that you thought it belonged to LynneSin and that you thought she was dead.

11. Patience. She may not show symptoms until tomorrow or
Friday, at the latest. Your kid may get the car yet.
