Man, Beyonce is PISSED.
This would be her Alanis Morrisette moment, it would seem. I like it. Nice riff on Basic Instinct, too.

2. I remember when Beyonce used to *sing*.
It's Christina who's rocking my world these days.

8. wow.
thanks for posting this, it's worth it just to get too listen to the horn section. Wow. I am so glad she's ditched the black/gray hair and the fake tan and the badly blended caked on makeup and gone back to this look, it's really Jean Harlow-ish and it suits her.

Considering her background and what she and her mom went through with her dad it's pretty neat she's made it to this point. I kind of wonder what her Mom feels like to have given birth to a talent like this...

3. damn, she's almost channeling Tina here.
I hope she continues in this direction, as long as she doesn't get to trashy. I guess Jay-Z is bringing out the Tigress in her. If she keeps on she'll be up there with Foxy Brown and Lil Kim. It'd be nice to have a female rapper that can sing too...

16. From Essence magazine...
Edited on Wed Sep-20-06 01:16 AM by primate1
"For two or three years I was away from all social interaction. It was a very introspective time because I had to confront my fears and master every demonic thought about inferiority, about insecurity or the fear of being Black, young and gifted in this western culture. It took a considerable amount of courage, faith and risk to gain the confidence to be myself. I had to deal with folks who weren’t happy about that. I was a young woman with an evolved mind who was not afraid of her beauty or her sexuality. For some people that’s uncomfortable. They didn’t understand how female and strong work together. Or young and wise. Or Black and divine."

And she's been working with The Fugees again lately. (Check out Dave Chappelle's Block Party, for example.)

She sounds fine to me, in that quote. I was aware of her solo work aftefr the big CD, and her reuniting with The Fugees on Block Party. I guess she's come through a rough patch.

18. Her "hubby" never legally divorced his first wife
so they're not really married.

14. Well..
I still like her music. B'day is not as catchy, but it's full of attitude and had good ballads.

13. Uh, not at all....
That second shot you posted--she's just wearing more makeup. The nose is the same, eyes are the same, chin's the same, cheekbones are the same.

She's got almost no makeup on in parts of the video I posted, and she looks just like she always did--beautiful and natural.
