1. My least favorite..
.... song on the album. Siberian Khatru is the best, the title track second best, and I skip over And You and I. It's just too damn much :)

12. that is one of the few albums that just make my heart collapse
with memories that are so sweet as to be painful...

not just nostalgia but...

regret of a path that I did not follow and

well, shit not to get all melancholy but, there are several albums from that era and this is one of them

when I see it

I instantly am back there and damn do I ever want to STAY

Scarlett was right when she told Ashley to not look back,,,it does have the power

4. A little of both.
;) Actually, it was the next album that was the prog-rock circle jerk. The tour (at least initially) featured both "Topographic Oceans" and "Close To The Edge" albums played in their entirety, with "Roundabout" as an encore.

5. Whatever you call it, I love it from the bottom of my soul.
Coming quickly to terms of all expression laid,
As a moment regained and regarded both the same,
Emotion revealed as the ocean maid,
A clearer future, morning, evening, nights with you.

:)

I'm going to play it right now.

8. A beautiful, if esoteric, love song by Jon Andersen
And you and I climb, crossing the shapes of the morning.
And you and I reach over the sun for the river.
And you and I climb, clearer, towards the movement.
And you and I called over valleys of endless seas.

Lovely and not at all obvious.

13. Yes
I listened hard but could not see
Life tempo change out and inside me
The preacher trained in all to lose his name
The teacher travels, asking to be shown the same

In the end, we'll agree, we'll accept, we'll immortalize
That the truth of the man maturing in his eyes
All complete in the sight of seeds of life with you.

;)

7. No. Please, just no. That guy always sang like he had a strangulated
hernia. Back in the 70s, I'd get out of a warm bed and walk across a cold floor barefoot to shut off a radio that was playing a "Yes" song.

10. To each his own
I've always loved Jon Andersen's voice. Much more preferable to, say, the yelping Robert Plant or the oft-off key Roger Daltrey. Not to say Yes was better than Zep or the Who....just the quality of the frontmen.

11. Please tell me you've listened to the new Toto.
Falling in Between.

Wow wow wow. Luthaker is kickin som ass, Bobby K is wailing, the music is so tight and progresses so well....meow!

15. Curse you high-bandwidth snobs
We lowly dialup proles can never romp in the Elysian Fields of high speed access.

You lightly toss off witty and educated views of this 25Meg video or that 15Meg MPG soundtrack...

Meanwhile, us po' country folk are left debating the relative merits of text versions of Moby's latest interview with RPM or chuckling over a 20-minute download of a Doonesbury cartoon.

Curse you all....

16. My least favorite song on the album,
but greater than 99% of songs ever produced.

I almost prefer the electric version on "Yessongs."

18. Probably the best song I've ever heard in an arena.
During the 1991 Union tour, they played this and I saw people bawling during the Mellotron bridge.

Now that you mentioned it . . . . hang on . . .

(harmonics) . . .OK . . . (more harmonics)

NP: "And You and I"

SO damned good having 3500 songs at your disposal!
