5. You know, there WAS a well-known band in the 1920s called
Gid Tanner and His Skillet Lickers.

Riley Puckett (the father of American flatpick guitar) got his start in that band.

Just so you know.

6. what about that...I think I knew that but, it was stuck in a cobweb
back in the corner of my brain...

also I think there is a town...perhaps in 'bama called Lickskillet

my brother has played in bands:

The Bluegrassholes

and

The Butter Brothers (cos they were smooth as butter ha ha)

so my taste is probably suspect too

but, thanks for getting me out of the parents needing advice...

those threads belong in GD or some parent's forum :shrug:

why do I click on them??? can I put parent's advice threads on ignore?

4. Don't ask me. I once had a band called the Bucksnort Ginslingers.
So my taste in band names is pretty dubious.
