I probably shouldn't offer advice, but let me just say this one little thing...I wish somebody had convinced me to use flash cards when I was in college. I used to think they were stupid, but used them later in life in my job...they are a lifesaver (just in case you haven't tried that strategy).

I flunked Political Science my senior year in HS, and could not be more proud of it.

This was in Mexico, and the imbecile that taught the course used a textbook titled "World Defeat" by Salvador Borrego. The Author claimed that a Judeo-Masonic conspiracy was responsible for WW-II, and Hitler was a tragic figure, misunderstood by the world.

Go figure.

To be fair, the other movie he showed us was about the Supreme Court, and it was so damned old the new justice at the time was Kennedy. I'm pretty sure there's some material on the Supreme Court that came out after most of the kids in the class were potty trained. :eyes:

The others were about the first two chapters of the text and the lecture material to date. I got 11/14 on the syllabus and handouts thing, and 34/40 on the text test, it's the lecture material that I bombed. I'm a bit shocked, I felt like I did pretty well on it.

as far as testing the lecture goes, at least now you have some idea of what to pick up on during classes. those were always the strangest classes for me, when you know the test is covering the lecture, but don't know what lecture material is relevant.

It's hard to tell sometimes what's going to be on the test and what won't be until somebody's waaaaay off topic. I know that anything that's repeated, on the board or emphasized is definite test fodder, and he seems to like to take any numbered lists and add them to tests (and you have to remember the lists in order, because a test question will be something like "what's the second reason I gave you that americans confuse socialism and facism?" and if you give the first reason you're wrong.)
