Leaf "Peeping" Guide.
Edited on Tue Sep-19-06 10:00 AM by lildreamer316
Basic links for almost everyone for seasonal times in their area of the country:

Link specifically for NCers:

I am packing up the family and we are going on the Blue Ridge Parkway exp. this year. Where the hell did someone come up with the word "peeping" to describe "going to see fall foliage"? Ah, well.

3. I love the Blue Ridge Parkway this time of year!
I miss N.C. and the mountains (and the Outer Banks). I was there 3 years ago, and I finally visited the Biltmore House. I grew up in N.C. and I never got around to seeing it. Have fun!

4. Some samples for visitors...
These are from a few years back; I scanned them in.

I hope this year is just as spectacular as that year was!

5. Up here in Maine the colors are already starting to show up
It's so weird! Certain trees are already changing! You usually don't see much color until late September or early October. It's mid September! WTF! I can say this, it looks like it will be a good year for color up here. Swamp Maples are changing now and are showing some great reds and yellows. The colors were absolutely lousy last year, the leaves just seemed to go from green to brown and fall of the tree all in one day. It was really disappointing.
