How you can tell it's vacation time at my house.....
We're basically no fun, so we are spending the first night of our vacation just sitting around doing nothing in particular. Me...I'm sitting here posting on DU because I can't watch TV right now. Why you ask?

My wife has the movie the Breakfast Club on the TV for the last 2.5 hours. Are we watching it? Oh no, we're staring at Molly Ringwald right now, freeze framed on the TV. Why freeze framed? Because she's sketching her. Her project for this evening is to sketch the entire Breakfast Club cast. Sigh.

1. Makes me feel good that someone else is as whacked out as us.
This is our first week not working for APP Mtn Club (we drove the hiker shuttle 315 miles a day) So what do we do? Drive from NH to MA to our home town to hunt down my missing brother, find out he's still alive, but hasn't been seen for 4 months (tho someone has talked to him), turned around and drove back. A 550 mile round trip.

2. Was it a nice road trip at least? I always love a good long pointless
roadtrip myself. :-)

3. We had an original plan. We were gonna stay overnight in Boston.
But we're sick fucks and could not resist going to Lynn and see the misery. Ride was nice, tho. Cept it makes you wonder why 2 people who bitched constantly about driving all day at work would take the first opportunity to put 550 miles on their car first day they have off.

6. Well that's an easy question. You don't mind the drive when it's on your
time. It just sucks when it's work. Driving is so therapeutic when it's on your time and at your own pace. Road trips are the best.

7. Yabut, what about Molly?
How long will it take to sketch the entire cast?

8. Not sure, she's really taking her time on it, so this could be going on
for awhile. We have Judd, Molly, Emilio and that other chick so far....ummmm, the dandruff lady....ummmm who the heck was that? I guess that leaves Farmer Ted and maybe the Principal if she gets the mood.

10. We could jump in the car and drive to see my mom and drive back.
That would cover 700-800 miles round trip. Heh heh. :-)

14. Not really interesting enough for pics. It's almost all open plains and
corn fields. I think the most interesting thing between here and there is the rest stop at the midway point.

12. Ally Sheedy.
She still does indy films. I really liked her in "High Art," where she plays a junkie lesbian photographer.

5. It's an LCD television. She's pausing it and moving it around to get
better angles and other artist type stuff that my brain doesn't comprehend. That pic you posted is almost exactly the spot she paused on for Judd's pic.
