True Friendship, cept none of that sissy crap thank you...
If you're tired of those "friendship" poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality? Well, here is a series of promises that might actually speak to a solid friendship. You will see no cutesy little smiley faces on this - just the stone cold truth, of rock hard friendship.

1. When you are sad...I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.

2. When you are blue...I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile...I will know you finally got laid.

4. When you are scared...I will rag on you about it every chance I get.

5. When you are worried...I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining.

6. When you are confused...I will use little, or few words.

7. When you are sick...Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.

8. When you fall...I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass.

Friendship can be like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth. And always remember...when life hands you lemons, ask for tequila and salt then call me over...and we'll talk about the tequila!!!!!

4. really, thanks, just got it in from hubby's Welsh buddy & seemed...
funny to me, but if you like it merh...i'm down with that big time

he's actually a retired Welsh prize fighter, he & hubby do this 'bachelor thing' back & forth so most of the stuff he sends would get mod-dumped  :hi: but this seemed doable

3. To say friend,
To say friend,
is to say games,
school, street, and youth.
Sparrows trapped
by the same wind
following the scent of a woman.

To say friend,
is to say wine,
guitar, drink and song,
scuffles and fights.
and at The Three Pines
one girlfriend for both.

To say friend
brings back the neighborhood
first light on Sunday
and leaves on my lips
the taste of sacramental wine,
and cream with cinnamon.

To say friend
is to say classroom,
laboratory and deacon.
Billiards and movies
naps in the park
and German girls on the lam.

To say friend
is to say camping tent,
boots, vest and rifle.
And on Sundays
fighting over girls
between Salou y Cambrils.

To say friend
does not seem strange
when one has the thirst
for life at twenty
and few fights
and a soul without half soles.

To say friend
is to say far away
and before that, saying goodbye.
And yesterday and always
what's yours is mine,
and mine is yours.

To say friend
it seems,
that to say friend
is to say tenderness.
Only God and my song
know who I name so often.

Juan Manuel Serrat

9. Yeah, even Paul Newman has given up on that sissy crap.
My bag of popcorn reads...

"LEGEND: I'll tell you how bad it is. Nobody gets trusted with popcorn--except me. That includes the FBI, the IRS, Tiffany's and concessionaires of any ilk. A good flick arrives on the local screen, you see ol'Newman scuttling across the lobby with a greasy brown paper bag of this homemade popcorn in one hand and--you guessed it--a machete in the other. Who's who lists a lot of one-armed people in my hometown. They got caught trying to muscle their way into my greasy brown paper bag. The way I feel--they got off easy. They should have been strung up.

Col. P.L. "Pops" Newman
