4. I had no patch kits
Walked home the first time, called wife and asked her to rescue me the second time, relied on a good Samaritan to take me to a place she could find me

6. Must be something else
Is defacing Lance Armstrong posters the only thing that angers them? I need to know before I go out for another ride

7. I'm not sure
I am not a big fan of cycling, so I'm probably not the best person to answer you question. But, in all honesty, it could have been crappy tires/rubber, or you just ran over something bad, and didn't see it...

8. Well that sucks
I'be been fortunate and haven't had a flat in the last 3 years on either bike.

Maybe you need to make a sacrifice to the gods. Offer them some GU

22. LOL! "Bonking" is a cycling term which refers to a complete drop in energy
while riding, due to not having fueled up enough with carbs or whatever. I've been riding for a while now and this very thing happened to me last week. I didn't have enough carbs with my breakfast (only two scrambled eggs) and then went out on a very challenging 30 mile ride with lots of steep hills....AND I stupidly hadn't brought anything with me, like GU or a Clifbar. I bonked big time and it was all I could do to get my ass home. Yup, even experienced cyclists need to learn their lesson.

10. Maybe the cycling gods aren't mad at you
Maybe it's just that the sharp, pointy thing gods love you.

11. Thanks
From now on I'll spend most of my rides thinking about those sharp pointy things gods and when they'll show their love again

17. It was a perfect day for riding
No wind, temps a comfy 70 or so. I was feeling full of myself and hoping to get 60-70 miles in. The gods had other plans.

20. Was it the same tire?
That sucks, regardless, though. Sorry about that.

Hey, I rode 75 miles yesterday! The conditions were absolutely perfect and we made excellent time. I'm doing a full century on Oct. 1st and this was the longest ride I'd done in over 6 years. Today I feel pretty damn good, considering.

:hi: Happy trails! and NO more flats, hopefully!

24. Yes, same tire
Whatever I ran over the first time damaged the tire enough to cause the second flat. I've dusted the offending staple for fingerprints and will be opening up a can of whoop ass soon.
